Silver Anniversary Draft, 110M Topic

I am announcing a trade.  I am trading Pedro and my 4th round pick for ryan_horner's 2nd and 3rd round picks.

The description in the rules thread is a standard WIS Championship rule for during the season.  In my site-mail a few days ago...

"Although there are no trades during the season, you may trade during the draft or before the season begins as long as the trade involves the same number of players/picks and both teams can field a legal lineup"

That does bring up the question, do we have the option to veto?  I am not trying to be disagreeable - just want to know.

Now that I know these trades are legitimate, if someone wants to make a similar trade for Barry Bonds, he might be available before my next pick.

The reason I allow trades before the season starts is because it's assumed that both owners are trying to make the best team possible.  The only reason to veto a trade is if somebody thinks their is collusion.  I don't think anybody here believes collusion is going on.

Well, I've been involved in this round 2 drafts every year since this tourney has been in existence (except once, but we don't talk about that year...), and I don't think this has EVER happened before. Pretty cool!

There were several reasons I chose not to go with Silver King, but the main reason is I don't like those old-timey curlicue moustaches. They scare me!

I wouldn't have accepted the trade until I saw Clemens, Tudor, Guidry and Scott all come off the board before my next pick. I had a couple guys I was aiming for in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, but I couldn't pass up another SP that it looks like I will need with so many people picking the same era as me.

Listen, I really don't have a problem with this trade.  But I do think this league will probably be won during the draft phaze.  So if you can look at what others have drafted then rearrange your team, you can gain advantage.  There are more reasons than collusion to veto a trade.

I was certainly not aware we could completely trade out of our era zone (so to speak) after establishing it with that first round pick. That was not made clear in that sitemail, and I certainly would have tried to, or maybe even put in a better offer for Pedro, for basically the same reasons this trade was made.

It looks like we are caught up, so I'll go ahead and pick early. alleyviper, I'm quite sure this is *not* your guy...

I assume this has no effect on who appears in which league/division - more to the point I won't have to deal with that King guy in the AL, right?
