70mil wasn't too bad.  The 4 SP'ers is tricky.  I made a few teams short of the 950 requirement.
What is the 950 requirement?
He's referring to the 100M theme.  Your 4 starting pitchers must have a real life total of 950 IP/162.

actually I thought the 70 million was pretty easy, my initional idea for a team had 9 guys over the million marker I wanted to keep, the hardest part was figuring out which one to dump so I could stay under the 70 restriction. But that 100 million 4 starters theme is giving me headaches, I think I have created about 2 dozen teams so far and I am still looking at more............But then again I tend to suck at this so what do I know.

It's hard with the SP theme...and the decades team.  I keep drifting back to Pedro and Maddux, but I'm trying to decide if my fixation on them could end up hurting me in the long run.

that's what always gets me...im struggling with the 4 sp's and 70mil since I tend to stay away from low cap leagues..

I'm having the most trouble with the Pitching + Defense.  WIS values defense way to highly.  My offense will suck balls.

everyone's offense will.  That is the point.

After doing hours of research on the 4 SP team, I feel really bad for Walter Johnson, his teams were historically bad for a long, long time.

For the $70m theme:  "The rest of your roster must be players who played in the same season as your selected team."

schwarze: Does this mean that all players on your team must be from the same season, or can you twist anyone who played in that year?  For example, if I am using the 2000 Yankees must every player be from 2000 or is the '95 Maddux on the table?

First of all...good luck affording '95 Maddux at a $70mil cap.

Secondly..."from the same season" seems pretty clear.  If you have the 2000 Yankees, you may fill your roster up with players from 2000.  Not sure where the confusion is.

70M: Same season means same season. No twisting.

Yes "from the same season" is pretty clear.  In fact, it's more clear than what the rule actually says (as I type this; I suspect it might change), and which id_203 quoted in his post:

"The rest of your roster must be players who played in the same season as your selected team."

If my selected team is from 2000, Greg Maddux satisfies "played in the same season", but the rules never explicitly say that only the same season may be used.

schwarze's intent was crystal clear to me, but I can see why somebody would ask the question.

And, thanks to careful re-reading of the $70M rules in response to this, I realized that I had overlooked the > $35M requirement.  I had two candidate teams built that could have been pretty good, but neither is legal under the $35M rule.  Grrr.....

found a very unlikely gem for the veteran 2-season league on my first shot.  I'll keep looking, but I have a feeling he'll hold up

in the veteran twist league is there any requirements for ABs in either of the 2 seasons we choose from? For instance if 1984 version of player X has 31 ABs, can that season be used?

No min AB (or IP) requirement, (so yes you can use player X with 31 AB)
