ignore pythag. WiS style blowouts are not figured into the equation.

yeah i agree..i've tanked a few games from each of my teams because of fatigue..pythag isn't too relevant unless your about 10-15 games under .500 in 1 run losses..

Right.  I like to keep track of my W-L record in 1-run games, 2-run games and 3+ run games.  Your record in 3+ run games is more indicative of how good your team really is.  This eliminates the blowout bias of just looking at runs scored and runs allowed.

Pythag doesn't have anywhere near the usefulness that it does in real life (which still isn't very much) but I don't feel it's worthless w/r/t WIS.  I think it's just fine for at-a-glance.

It all depends on how many 24-3 games you are involved in.

Chances are every team is going to be involved in roughly the same number over the course of a season.

Apparently my teams have been drinking the same water as the Red Sox as they are collapsing so hard it's making my head spin.

2 teams trying to blow playoff spots..horrible divisional play..

Well, I had 2 teams pretty much fall apart right out of the gate (90M and 120M), which more or less doomed any chance I had of making it into the cage.  For a while the 70M team (I chose the 01 Mariners) led their division, but it was a very tight race - the whole league was extremely competitive - and they will struggle to finish at .500.

Of the other 3 teams, all 3 are still in the playoff hunt.  At a guess, I expect 2 will make it.  Not nearly enough to advance us to round 2.  Great tournament this year schwarze, as always.  Very competitive group of owners.  I'm 2 out of 4 at making to the 2nd round, and definitely suffered from a severe lack of prep for this year's themes.  Hopefully next year I'll put up a better showing.

GL to all the owners advancing to round 2.

Are you bringing this up just because my team went 2-13 in 1-0 games in the good glove $90M league?

Hey, is anyone inclined to run an NIT-type league for owners who didn't make Round 2?

Maybe pick out the easiest Round 2 themes to administer, and run a league so the rest of us losers can try our hand at the themes?

lol..that's rough..my team in that league started off 1-7 in 1-0 games...we're now at 7-7 and doing well overall in 1 run games at 32-23..

What a pitiful finish.  I'm amazed I was sitting in the top 3 for so long with how these teams played down the stretch.

Every team over .500 ...but only 2 playoff teams...

How fitting that the final day brings our first 0-6 of the season...including a 1-0 loss that leaves us with a WC tiebreaker
