We need two hitters and four pitchers.

One hitter should be a 2B and/or SS (or ideally could play both)
The other hitter can be 1B, 3B or OF (since a few of the OFs could move to the 1B/3B slot)

The pitchers should include one starter and two relievers.  The last pitcher can be anything.

this cap looks high for the players selected. if we can afford the best version of most players it won't be much of a challenge.I'll try to fix that by selcting...

Barry Bonds

Would've been a good pick, but unfortunately, Barry Bonds is ineligible.  He has no season under $1 million.

Since rbows' selection is ineligible, I'll pick Lance Johnson (OF) 1987-1999

Keep in mind that that you do get to add one Hall-of-Famer to your roster.  So for those who spend the max on every player, the less you get to spend on your HOF player.

I doubt anyone will be able to spend the max on every player considering Silver King's best season cost nearly 1/4 of the available cap at $29+ million ,

That's the biggest decision so far it looks like - whether to take the 700 IP Silver King or not. If you don't, you might be looking at maxing out all the other players. If you do, you have to build a Silver King team. I have one of those in an OL right now, and they are fairly tricky to keep operational. Of course, against the standard of play in an OL, it's not too hard to win anyway. But the standards are a little higher in round 2 of the WISC

it looks like a few scrubs and the best of everybody else. I was hoping we'd have to choose some players 3rd or 4th best version to save money but so far that doesn't seem necessary.

I'll select Troy Percival. at least he has several top seasons to choose from.

Not really.  Unless someone picks another good starting pitcher, everyone will have to pick the expensive King to get enough innings.

i agree ^..a lower cap would make for tougher decisions..but 120mil i won't doubt it if i see 90% of the same pitching staffs..the hitting will most likely be pretty similar as well..

Unless of course, your HOF is a stud SP like Walter, Addie or Christy.

Ironically, when I first came up with the Round 2 themes, I was going to include a "Big Dick" theme.  It appears this theme will essentially be that.

For those not familiar with Big Dick, we would each select one player, including season (24 players).  We'd all have to use the exact same 24 players.  We'd get to select our own 25th player and ballpark.  So in essence, the competition was more on in-season management and in-game strategy than drafting skill.  It was named after Dick Hall, one of the players selected in the first season of Big Dick.

It's a shame that there are were couple of players selected for this theme where their max salary is on the low-end for a 120M cap.
