I meant for this statement to mean you can't take a <300K version of a player that was in the draft pool. 
You might want to update the 300K exception statement then on page 1 for people like Profcake who might not read everything ...

Well, I'd have preferred to have Pete Rose and his 733 PA for my leadoff hitter, but I'll have to settle for the efficiently-priced firstbaseman known as The Human Rain Delay and his .428 OBP#.  Plus I don't have to sweat it out getting stuck with the dreaded last pick at that position.

That last 1B pick just looks horrible, batting is atrocious (.600 OPS) and somehow his defence is even worse (D+/B-) .
