The Decade Draft League

DDL#8 the 1990's..The Jordan years!.
  
"Players that were great in their day..are great again in the DDL"

The DDL (Decade Draft League) explores the history of Pro-Basketball one unique era at a time. This season amerk1180 & the 'WayBack Machine' will visit the era of the Bulls dynasty...the 90's. 

Commish: amerk1180 
Format: Single season, Forum Draft, Era Limited, Single Instance player availabilty
Forum Draft: ABBABABABA draft sequence. Rounds 9 & 10, two picks per round. A,1-24 / B, 24-1
Random Draft Order: Random Draw (by NY Lottery 'Quick Draw')
Random Division Assignment: Random Draw. Prior to beginning the draft, divisions are randomly drawn, assigned and posted. Division assignments cannot be traded. Team rosters are updated (RBD) as the draft proceeds. (helps to know who's in your division during the draft)
Era:  1990's) (will change with each new DDL)
Available player pool: WIS players, seasons 1989-90 thru 1998-99 (set your filter)..
Team salary cap: unlimited (build a beast)
No clones 
No Waiver Wire
No Rookies
No Net
No Whining   Well maybe alittle..but only during the draft.

I will be making one change--in the draft, we will do picks every HALF hour, instead of one an hour.  I hate these drafts lasting two-three weeks!

I like it!  Good suggestion.  I am doing musical themes for my NFL decade draft leagues, so let's go with 90's TV shows for team names.

Thanks so much for the early excitement and signups.  smokey did a very good job with this, and I don't know if it was his idea or not (since I joined in DDL 2 I think), but he got something started with this idea.  

Personally, I like the DDL better than the ODL, and I love the non cap of the DDL.  I think it is more of a case of who really knows basketball, and who to draft when, instead of just knowing how to be a salary cap wizard, but I have heard from others who feel the opposite and like the ODL's better.  It is because of the cap/no cap thing that I think the DDL is a really good complement to the ODL, and I would like to work hand in hand with jhsukow to make both even better.

As coolmay_one will attest from the football draft leagues I run, I try to run a tight ship and since I am legally blind and on SSDI, I have the time to try to be pretty organized.  I think everyone will enjoy that.  I really think everyone will get used to and like the "pick every half hour" thing too, which will get the draft moving along MUCH quicker.

I promise to make this league as organized and fun as I can, and I hope everyone will give it a chance.  Spread the word!
