when we draft a player i think we should have to indicate what season(s) of that player we want to better evaluate each others teams....for example: if you take jordan are you taking young jordan, first 3-peat jordan or 2nd 3-peat jordan?

thought I had indicated early on that I was in.  Oh well - not a big deal at all.  I'll enjoy watching y'all's mock.

Ash can have my spot, I just found out I will be out of town for work the rest of the week, will be hard to make picks.

thank goodness, Ash will actually give proper analysis and intelligent conversation throughout this draft, I personally think that as we are picking our players, we should discuss at least in a brief statement why we picked them. Personally I'll be taking everything in to account, including leadership qualities and ability to handle pressure situations.

The 2 main things are how great a player is in his prime and his career as a whole but you can do whatever you want cuz it's also for fun. It will be fun reading all the comments on each draft pick and team.

I like the idea of explaining why you pick a player and how you built your team and why. Like a defensive or fast break team or whatever strengths your team is built on exactly. That will come into play as the draft goes on when deciding how you will finish your team.

If imahobbit is out we will move everyone up one and go with 15 teams

Oh if ash is in then I can try and make my picks. Was mostly being nice.

Cool, let's get going.

Michael Jordan, 1990-91. Ruthless and dominant. The team will be built around him - he would never be part of a big three (in his mind, even if he had players that good around him.)
8/10/2011 10:18 AM
I am not picking this team based on who I think is the best as much as I am picking this team on the types of players I love.  My first pick is a guy that gets it done every time he is on the court, and never gives up.  I value hustle and clutchness to a great degree.  For this reason I want:

The Hick From French Lick, The Silent Assassin 1986-87 Larry Bird

damn...so many good options....

Wilt Chamberlain

I want the 66-67 champion Wilt. Unselfish almost to a fault but it will be great to be able to run offense through the post. He gives me the rebounding, rim defending center that you almost have to have to win it all. He won't be my leading scorer but he gives me the option to not have to pick a true point guard. I like the fact that he is still athletic while possessing the height and weight to cover any center. He also gives me a huge lead in total chicks banged.

Magic Johnson, 86-87

Best PG ever.
