so are we going to have in season trades? like get the site staff to switch players for us? that'd be pretty sweet if we could do that.

I thought we could do in season trades but if we cant we dont need rookies.

I'm fine with a random draw for the bottom six. 

I understand the aversion to blatant tanking, but in any progressive league owners will need to find some effective way to blow up rosters and start rebuilding.  Let's just make sure the rules are thorough and clear.

never played a progressive league. If an IL is used play with real historical players if possible

Does anyone else think we should have a minutes floor in order to be eligible for the lottery?

That second line is key.

An interesting idea came up in another forum, what dont we take actual rookies from 10-11 season? And use them as instead of SIM generated rookies. Snydie will choose which ones and even rename them if he chooses.  That would really help with the rookies

Well, you could easily still make a minutes cap but play players out of position in order to tank... Why not have a league vote on blatant tanking or something? I mean, just the fact that we would have the ability to vote someone out of the lottery/random draw and penalize them for it would discourage it, I would think. I mean, if 20/24 owners call it blatant tanking, it most likely is.

dalvarius  I can assure that's a very slippery slope and can create bad blood.  We need hard and fast rules around tanking.  It cant be arbitrary

If so, it should be easily achievable.  What do you propose?

Im thinking somewhere around 17000 mins.  It will allow to "tank" but not egregiously.  What do you think?

tough enough to fill a league let alone booting a player.  Drafting for depth 2 seasons away is good strategy but, it may result in
low mins. in the present because of low rookie mins. ex. Paul westphal w/ celtics rookie year 400 min.  is this construed as
tanking.

I don't think we need rookies since we can't make in season trades so I am going to eliminate rookies if thats ok with everyone.

Tanking is a tough issue and I think it's awesome that everyone is giving input. I agree with ltb & eleibowitz that we need specific rules. I'm not sure what would be best to keep this league as honest as possible. Rebuilding teams must give to receive later but where do we draw the line with underachieving teams? We still have time to iron this issue out since we seem to be at a standstill considering how difficult it is to fill an NBA simleague.
 
If anyone has suggestions on how we can fill this quicker or know other owners you think would be interested that would be great otherwise we are unfortunately wasting our time!
