OK, this might be my LAST post, so here it goes.  I have NO wasted or excessive players (all under 700k except 1, that I need as def backups, pinch hitters, ect.) & came in about 200K, under the $120 mil Cap.  Starting out I selected SP to overlap some of my position players, incase I lost some of them & almost got screwed up, having too many INF that I didnt know what to do with!  Meaning, I selected (2) 2B, (2) SS & (3) 3B, incase I lost any pitchers due to duplication, ends up I didnt lose any of them, I lost 1B & OF (from Lefty Grove, Simmons & Foxx)!  Then in the 2nd round, I overlapped even more, picking up more INF that I didnt need.  I selected Shocker, to use his 1920 season, for a 1B (Sisler) & 2 good OF (Babydoll Johnson & Tobin) - then stupid me - I realized Shocker had a BETTER season for the 27 Yanks (Duh?  I wasnt even looking that dirrection, Honestly) & I had a better 1B, OF & INF options, obvious choices.  I almost got stuck with a pitcher (Bearden) that all of his INF (Boudreau, Keltner & Gordon) got eliminated (cuz I selected VStephens, TPerez & Doerr) & thought I didnt have ANY position players left (from Bearden) after I made my lineup, but I found other players I could use from him (Gordon instead of Doerr & some backups that I needed).  I did select 1 SP (Pavano) spacificly to get a Closer, Leadoff batter & some backups.  I thought seriously about selecting WJohnson & (4) 200K players, but there were NOT any low salary players, on his good years that I felt I could use.  I missed out on Saberhagen, Ciccotte, Drysdale, etc,. cuz I thought they would NEVER make it through the round, good picks I might add?

I really thought about Liriano but it was going to be tough to get him 30 starts. Love those 2006 Twins teammates though.

I ended up just using Maddux95 and some bench players so I'm glad I picked him. My team doesn't use the whole 120mil, we probably used about 112-113mil and then I wasted the rest on expensive bench players.

Do we have a league # yet?

You were worried about getting Liriano 06, 30 starts?  That's a piece of cake.  At least I hope so, because I've got 2 starters with less than his 122 IP.  Now if you take too many low inning starters it's tough to get enough total innings without taking a really mediocure pen.  But then I'm going for a very pitching heavy team.

30 starts x 40 pitches minimum = 1200 pitches. Divide by 15 pitches per inning and Liriano only needs 80 IP. So it can be done but it's a tax on your 'pen.

Happyhours - Mike Cuellar, Jose Deleon, Vida Blue,

This was from Page 1 of this thread.  You may or may not have gotten any but after round 2 these three are the ones you own.  I only had one after the first round and I now have 5 which are all listed there.  I hope this helped.

happyhours -  After 2 rounds you have Cuellar, Deleon and Vida.  2 others you picked must appear on the new expanded blacklist on page 4.  You need to try for 2 new pitchers in round 3.

Sorry Happy ypu didn't get any of your pitchers.  I'm waiting for a few teams to get me new players.  I guess it's not easy to find pitchers at this stage.  I'm still waiting for a response from Sean102385.  I'm not sure what to do if he doesn't answer.  I will have to offer his pitchers that he got and then the new owner will have to pick pitchers not on the master list or a combination thereof.  I sent him another sitemail.  We are waiting for others and they have sitemailed they needed to do some more research.  I will not be around on saturday at all I'm driving from Orlando, FL to Petersburg, Va.

Hang in there nikospade.  We are patient.  This theme is very cool and I think someone will take sean's spot if he stays awol.  If not I will draft a team with whatever pitchers are left after everyone finishes if it comes down to that.

Need some HELP?!  I put this list together in about 10-15 minutes...  These guys are ALL quality SP, with respectable stats & they all have a few quality - position players that you can use, RP that you will NEED, Low salary players who would serve as good backup/bench players, etc!  You wont find Babe Ruth, Ted Williams or Barry Bonds as teammates, but the guys you WILL find are solid players you can use!

FToney, BPelty, JPowell, RCollins, EShore, EReulback, SLeever, RFoster, NGarvin, EMoore, BRhoads, KCole, RFord, ACoakley, JLake. PPerritt, ASothoron, JTannehill, RRussell, JTesreau, BPierce, OOverall, HWiltse, TSparks, HGaspar, DWhite, HCamnitz, RMarquard, GMcquillan, OHess, EKillian, SMcdowell, DRuether, JTaylor, LLeifield, MLanier, AFromme, WMitchell, EMoseley, BBolin, OHershiser, SBahnsen, JKooseman, SBlass, VLaw, JMatlack, RReuschel, SGarrelts, BCapra, JNash...  I would take any of these guys over MY - Bearden or maybe even Nolan or Pavano?!

Come ON guys, this is getting kind of SILLY, we have been dealing with this theme for almost 3 months!  Let's get it started already, eh!!?
