hmmm, from 1969 to 2010, he has the most hits in a single season of 262, breaking his own record the previous year. Also the 3rd highest BA in that same time frame.  A/A- fielding and can steal bases to.

Not sure who would be better.

seriously, dude? aside from the fact that we're talking about a simulation game that frequently yields much different results from real life, arguing that most hits = best is just crazy for reasons that I thought were pretty self-evident to most baseball fans by now.

I thought Nomar was the best non-protected hitter.  .370+ avg at shortstop.

schwarze, I don't think anyone can go wrong with Nomahhhhh, Eric the Red or Ichirio, not to mention most of the picks so far.  I think Ichiro's monster year was ridiculous, but I needed more help at SS or I would have nabbed him!!
