i was looking at '04 Mulholland forever... (specifically for Santana, plus maybe Mauer and/or Nathan)... But scrapped that when I instead opted to take 99 Smoltz (for Chipper & Millwood).  Nice pick.

I currently have Jocko Milligan behind the dish, so Mauer will have to battle him for the spot. I'll probably be taking both Nathan and Rincon, and if I can get Santana and use less of Gus, that'll be gravy.

This has got to be the biggest smorgasboard of high-inning mediocrity in the history of the pitching side of this draft. There are some really good seasons out there, but I'm sure most will either be relying on teammates or gambling on crap in their starting rotations.

Was that your inside voice?
Are you talking to me? What's wrong with saying Jewish people are tight with money? I think it's factual and pretty common knowledge.

JTP -- I'm actually Irish Catholic -- and mostly just teasing you.  As an aside, I am also a lawyer, and when we were in law school anyone who  tried to make a generalization about someone based on race, creed, or gender was excoriated as a bigot.  I've been out of law school 17 years, picked dozens of juries, and for better or for worse, am forced to make choices based on generalizations all the time.

2004 Mauer ony has 120 PA, so he would've filled in the PA's I needed ('55 Burgess only has 530 or so).

and....earthquake just hit virginia.  we felt it up here in connecticut.  buildings were evacuated here in new haven.

Felt it here in NJ too. We evacuated the building too. This is nothing for Japan.

Apparently it was felt up here in parts of southern Ontario, though we didn't get anything. 5.9 is a decent quake.
