I sitemailed thunder1008 about his missed pick a couple hours ago and he hasn't gotten back to me. Did he send a proxy to anyone?

Just curious... has he opened any of your earlier sitemails about the draft starting?

Fantastic. Apparently he has not. There are two other owners who have opened some of my sitemails, but not all. But it is not their time to draft yet. We'll see what happens with those two. As for Thunder, I will go ahead and make a pick for him now so he doesn't get too far behind. If he doesn't make his second round pick, I am going to ask another owner to draft for that team.

I'm really hoping that this was a misunderstanding and he just forgot to send a proxy, but we have to make sure we have a plan in case of a worst-case scenario.

For Thunder1008, I will choose OF Sammy Sosa. I have spent more hours then I would like to admit poring over the draft list, and he's the best available by my count.

If he logs on and wishes to change that pick, he can.

I don't like the idea of drafting against phantom owners. 8 other owners got the advantage of picking 1 spot ahead of their draft order before Sosa was retroactively assigned to team x. Since it would have been a coin flip between Sosa and Shoeless Joe, I'll take Joe Jackson. But there needs to be a plan in place before we move to the 2nd round.

I understand me making picks for another owner can be controversial. It is the responsibility of each owner to make sure they know when to draft and do so. But thunder1008 hasn't opened any of my sitemails from the last two weeks, so I am acting on the assumption that he's not coming back. Finn2030 has graciously offered to take the reigns on this team if thunder doesn't show. Making the pick now makes for fairer competitive balance.

Again, I am giving Thunder1008 until the end of tomorrow to show. If now, finn will take over.
