If someone takes a player he can no longer be a teammate option. He is then exclusive, even for the fourth guy, at least I thought.

Think the answer is still the same; if someone takes Bagwell in the 4th rd, he is exclusive to that owner...So no, the owner who took Nolan Ryan cannot use Bagwell...

So Bagwell is picked in the fourth round but someone who took Nolan Ryan for his HOF can he take Bagwell as one of his seven players who played with him. Not suggesting two people can take Bagwell as the 4th pick, just asking if he can be one of the 7? I think I worded it better this time.  Ace

Well, Ryan never played with Bagwell. But...once a player is drafted, he becomes exclusive. You may only use teammates of each of 4 draft picks who are not drafted elsewhere in this draft.

This is a BIG deal, cuz the HOF players I want to draft, play with a LOT of other HOF players & if the DEAD rule applies, I have to adjust my draft strategy accordingly, selecting players with good teammates, but NOT teammates in the HOF!

Once Babe Ruth was drafted first overall, he became dead to every other owner in the league except tulsaslide, who picked him. He's not eligible to be on any other rosters. I hope this clears up any confusion.

Cool, then they are DEAD, once they are selected, it makes sense.  Im SURE tulsaslide was BANKING - on being able to use Lou on his team & he is Hoping that nobody else will take Gehrig... Ha, ha, like thats NOT going to happen?  OR - maybe Lou WILL go unselected, I have seen MUCH stranger things happen "ONLY in sim?!"

Looks like I will have to go with Plan "B" - selecting HOFers withOUT HOF teammates - or not expecting to use them (IF selected)!  No problem, sorting out stuff like this, is also another reason why I wanted the 20th pick!  IT happens in almost every league, just like It happens every spring...

I see where there was some confusion on the 2nd page of that post, however, I was answering Randy's question regarding undrafted Hall of Famers. The protest votes will be exclusive to the drafting owner once they are drafted. 

In theory modern players are the safer bet because of the non-HOF teammate angle. Plus the modern HOF players played on more teams, therefore more teammate choices. Having said that plenty of great old HOF choices
