Rule V Leg #36 draft thread Topic

see, this is why I changed up the strategy, I was hoping that most pitching from Astros would go off board, It was a good debate on management side between Dierker & Wilson, very similar stats, except maybe for innings pitched.  Now, I have the pitching rotation set, I can protect another guy I had on my list.............ahhh screw it, here I try to really scrutinize my protects / draft, & i'm sure I will come in last, but as long as I kick my friend Sanchez's *** (Jose) I'm all good!

Gagne has been unprotected before the first round 7 times but never selected in the first.  He's remained unprotected before the second round 4 times and he's been taken every time.

I would've taken Gagne if he lasted a few more picks.

I'll roll the dice with Ben Sheets, MIL. I believe he's a perennial underperformer, but he's still an upgrade for Chicago.

In the Brewers' previous 10 appearances, Sheets was protected before Round 1 9 times, and when he wasn't he was drafted in Round 1 (leg 35 - unprotected by schwarze, picked midway through the first round by pini's M's).

newark, he was actually a welcomed surprise for my Mariners last leg, did good

I am going to go with a 2011 version of Cole Hamels P Philadelphia Phillies

It came down to Sheets or Caldwell to protect, and I chose Caldwell since he's more likely to keep the ball in the park.  I would have liked to have both on my final roster however...

I was going to comment on the Bronx-to-Beantown Exodus...

I've met all challenges so far. now I go face-to-face with the ultimate challenge.

Pete Rose, Cincinnati

his name is also a sentence.

Same reason I let Sheets go in the last leg.  I think Caldwell lost 20 games for my pathetic Brewers team.

Okay, there it is.  Now I don't have to make the decision.

You've got the #1 ranked owner tempting fate!  Here is rbow's 5-year "Rule V" history...

Season 31:
Astros, 97-65

Season 32:
Yankees, 101-61

Season 33:
Athletics, 103-59

Season 34:
Padres, 94-68

Season 35:
Blue Jays, 103-59

He set the franchise records in wins for Yankees (since broken), Athletics, Padres and Blue Jays.  The only downside is that he's yet to win a World Series with these teams.
