so many great old time hitters out there we'd love to put in the lineup...
But we'll go cheap & get some relievers and grab Tony Gwynn
I was hoping this one would fall to me. I just need a 3B, one more SP, and OF. He would have filled those gaps. Nice pick though.

Tough choices left to make.  Guess I will go with Jimmy Foxx and his Philadelphia A's friends.

How does Foxx only get 79%?

Im kind of torn with my Protest vote?  Do I go with a player who can help my team with his ability - or- do I go with a player who can help my salary cap # (there are a couple of them with a 200K season)?  Quite the dilemma...

go_pre you are right on. Until you know who your protest player is you really can not pick a team. This is fun but really makes you think.  And to add to that I can not believe some of these guys (HOFs) are still there. Guys who were team mates of guys I thought would never be available. Ace

Great players are left because it is not about the HOFer but the HOF player teammates.  If I need a P, 2B, and 3B and Foxx is left (just an example), then maybe he is not my best option, especially if his HOF teammate is already taken.  It depends on where you team's holes lie.  Plus with a cap those choices become more muddied.

I hear what is being said but if I had known what was going to happen, it would have been tough to not take Gehrig (vs Ruth) considering he played with Ruth, Dimaggio, Berra. Cepeda and McCovey will get Mays and Marichial (even though Marchial has been awful every season I have taken of him) and how about Koufax who played with Snider, Campanella, Robinson, Hodges, Furillo, Drysdale, Newcombe this is wild!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd personally appreciate if comments about who available players played with could be held until after all have drafted. Sorry if it seems pissy but I'm sure people would not have been happy if I had posted before the draft started that Eck was the only player to team with Pedro and Maddux.

I don't know. I think you should have your team made by the time you go to pick your protest pick. That makes it easier to pick that person. Though I think it is just easier for me because I have the first protest pick. Already have him picked out and plugged in to my team. He will be contributing full time. My team is built and my third hall of famer is the role of filling the rest of the holes in my lineup/rotation.

AGREED. Seeing as how I have the last pick I don't need people being informed of the remaining players and who they play with.

It doesn't bother me one way or another, but I can definitely see your point MITchip.

Give me a break, I picked Eck with the second pick but to be fair I may have missed Maddux without your help. I will keep my mouth shut going forward.  Ace

All I'm saying ace is that I feel like I've put a solid effort into researching for this draft and if someone who has already finished drafting mentions a player I'm targeting and that player gets drafted before my turn then I have no way of knowing whether the person who drafted them was targeting them as well or didn't do any research and just picked them because of what was said here.
