A player's season and franchise have to be listed among the available franchises to use it, Cy Young's Boston Americans seasons were eligible; his Spiders/Red Sox/Perfectos/Braves were not. You could use Warren Spahn's 1953, '56 etc. seasons, but not his 1946 or 47 seasons. Ted Williams 1950-1960 seasons but not 1939-1949. There are no Addie Joss, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Pete Alexander etc. seasons eligible.
The team listed next to any player-season used must also be listed as an eligible franchise. It does not matter whether the franchise was used during the draft or not. You can draft a Philadelphia Blue Jay, a Brooklyn Robin, a Milwaukee Brewer; you cannot draft a Celveland Spider, Cleveland Nap, Brooklyn Bridegroom ...:
