OK, I guess I will throw the hammer for the red team....nfet and I played, and THE POWER OF GUIDRY COMPELS YOU! THE POWER OF GUIDRY COMPELS YOU!

Both Guidrys threw admirably, but it was 78 Ron that threw eight innings of one-run baseball to earn a 3-1 victory over the 1981 Yankees. Goose came on to get the save.

nfet's Reggie went big fly, but that was the only offense those strike season Bombers could muster. Their 78 World Series champion counterparts slapped 11 hits around, but only three for xtra bases, content to play small-ball most of the way. Lou Piniella, Graig Nettles and Thurman Munson all rapped out RBI singles.

Losing Ron Guidry struck out 10 over the six innings he threw, but it wasn't enough.

I believe that's five wins, and a RED TEAM WINNAH.

The Red Tribe has immunity for this week’s Tribal Council vote. Blues should post answers to at least their own question below and are welcome to stir the pot by answering others.

After answering in the forum, tribe members can sitemail their vote to me, naming the Blue Tribe player they are voting to get rid of. If a Blue Tribe member has a Hidden Immunity Idol and wants to use it, specify that when sending me your vote. Any votes cast for someone playing the idol will be ignored.

aljon1331 – Was more of the tribe’s time spent researching or building alliances?
sabreclub – Do you base your vote this week more on trying to get rid of a particular person or on what gives you the best chance of sticking around to the end?
nfet – Both tribes went with the ’81 Yankees, though they had the lowest win percentage of the 77-81 teams. Did you have any real chance against 78 Guidry in the clinching game?
acketyack – Someone on the tribe got two chances at finding the Hidden Idol by taking two teams; how did soxyanks12 end up with that extra chance?
soxyanks12 – How much collaboration was there in choosing who would play with which team?
staindman – Who has the biggest target on his back?
FishNasty – In Survivor 2, the makeup of early tribes played the biggest role in voting the rest of the way. At this stage, is there any feeling that players should be loyal to their tribes to build trust?
deltagorfers – This challenge required a lot of research. How was that work divided up and shared among the tribe? Was everyone asked to contribute?

Votes must be received by midnight Friday. When I have all 8 votes in, I will announce results and post the next challenge. Any votes not received by midnight Friday will not count.

"The two were meant for each other. One's a born liar, and the other's convicted.”

In memory of George Steinbrenner and Billy Martin’s memorable quote, we have the theme for the first challenge that will see someone leave the island. Pick nine teams for your tribe, and each will be used once. Tiebreaker will be most home runs by The Straw That Stirs The Drink, so post those along with your score.

1977-1981 Yankees (choose 3)
1 Billy Martin team (no Yankees, no Jackson; Martin as player or manager)
1 Reggie Jackson non-Yankee team
1 Steinbrenner-era non-Jackson Yankee team (1973-2009)
1 team with a Nixon
1 Dave “Mr. May” Winfield team
1 non-Yankee team Martin was fired from (69 Twins, 73 Tigers, 75 Rangers, 82 Athletics)

One player from the Blue tribe will play two games. Tribe captains will sitemail me a list of teams each player will use — listing which category teams are from. For this challenge, captains will be soxyanks12 and steveymer. There will be a reward given to the player who wins with theteam having the worst real-life record. There will be several Hidden Idol teams; anyone playing with one of those teams will get a clue to an idol.

Teams must be submitted by midnight Sunday.
Games must be played by midnight Wednesday. Anyone unable to play games by midnight Wednesday can play them Thursday by 8 p.m. against Sparky, with any opposing-tribe member starting or observing the game.
Am I reading this wrong????????

Games must be played by Wednesday midnight is underlined and bolded!

Seeing how I did not play in either Survivor 1 or 2, I can not answer this question completely.  I do however feel you need to be loyal to your tribe because without loyalty you will not make it far in this game

soxyanks12 – How much collaboration was there in choosing who would play with which team?

From my understanding, not much collaboration was done.  However, this is NOT a slam on soxyanks.  From the sitemails I receieved, many people left soxyanks on an island to choose teams as captain and everyone was able to choose from the teams he selected.  Staindman was the only person I saw that picked a team on his own, and it payed off.  I commend staind and also sox for taking control.  I would be interested to hear from soxyanks which players did not even pick a team at all from the list given and were told which team to play.......

Unless it's also italicized, it's not official

My bad. Thought I'd gone back and changed it to Thursday everywhere.

sabreclub – Do you base your vote this week more on trying to get rid of a particular person or on what gives you the best chance of sticking around to the end?

I think you need to build a tribe that has the potential to win a few challenges, or you will end up way too shorthanded at the merger and get picked off one by one. I also think you need to keep active people that want to actually play the game and do research to help the team.

Of course you would want our team to eliminate people who beat members of your team. What am I missing here?

Or did your feelings get hurt . Poor Bastan

Vote off Sabreclub he's mean to me and actually won his game.

Maybe you could try holding your breath and stomping your feet.

To answer a questioned sitemailed to me... There is no voting for captains for the next round. Do not assume that this version of survivor will be run the way previous versions have been run.
