Josh - Are tribe two's prizes good for any time? Like my intentional walk, can I hold it for as long as I am in the game? Can I give it to someone else for whatever reason should I choose? Just curious, thanks
The bonuses can be used at any time but belong to the individual player (even if they benefit the tribe as a whole), and cannot be transferred. So if you are watching a tribemate play a game, you cannot assign him your intentional walk bonus.

Only one bonus may be used in any tribe vs. tribe series. For example, in the next challenge if the tribe elects to use aljon's bonus of starting the same pitcher twice in the series vs. Tribe 1, no other bonus could be used against Tribe 1. Something like the intentional walk or staindman's ability to remove the opposing pitcher could not be used in the challenge against Tribe 1. A bonus such as toddleduc's that would affect the team used in a challenge obviously would be used against both tribes; in a case such as that, one other bonus could be used against either of the other tribes for a total of two bonuses used in the challenge.

Hope this is clear. Let me know if not.

Do I have to stay up til 11 to see what happened?  Or will we be posting early?
8/17/2010 7:27 PM
Still need votes from dubrightway, eman7400 and deltagorfers. I'll post results when I get those three votes.

my vote is in
8/17/2010 10:15 PM
The votes are in and will be read now, starting with Tribe 3. No one on Tribe 3 played an Immunity Idol, so the player with the most votes will leave the game. Aftewr votes are read, that person will be allowed one farewell post and then should not communicate with anyone still in Survivor 3 about strategy or other aspects of the game. Votes will be read in a random order and will only be announced as far as needed to ensure a loser.

First vote is for eman7400

Second vote is for BastanRedsox

Third vote is for eman7400
One vote for BastanRedsox, two votes for eman7400

Fourth vote is for BastanRedsox
Two votes each for BastanRedsox and eman7400

The fifth vote, and third person voted out of the game is for ...

eman7400

eman7400, the tribe has spoken. Your game is over.

On to Tribe 1. Dubrightway has stepped forward with Hidden Immunity Idol #3. The clue he was given was: "North of the border, where long ago they built the mines, the Mills and the factories for the good of us all, the speed limit can top 100. So on the way here, I blew by a train while passing through Montreal." The clue referred to Nolan Ryan's strikeout in Montreal on April 27, 1983. The answer for the idol was Career Strikeouts Leader. Here (new and improved) forums permitting, is the actual idol, the page in the St. Albans (Vt.) Messenger commemorating the feat with photos and story by a certain sports editor lucky enough to be watching Ryan pass Walter Johnson on the career K list from the photographer's box about 60 feet away from home plate at Olympic Stadium.

FIFTH CHALLENGE

Each tribe will pick one pitcher in the top 10 for career strikeouts, and will use two teams featuring that pitcher (each of the two teams will be used four times, with your strikeout artists starting in all four). Pitchers will be chosen in reverse order of standings from the previous challenge, and are exclusive. The tribe finishing third in the challenge will go to tribal council and vote someone off; the other two tribes will remain intact. Tiebreaker will be fewest runs allowed (overall if all three tribes finish 4-4, or in the series if two teams tie); then most strikeouts by the chosen pitcher, so post the starter’s strikeout totals along with the scores. One player from Tribe 2 will be sent to Exile Island and will get a clue to the third hidden immunity idol. Three of the 10 pitchers have been designated as Idol bonuses, and everyone on the tribe that picks one first will receive a clue to the fourth idol in the game.

Captains must submit their choice of pitcher and the two seasons/teams they will use by midnight Thursday. FishNasty should name the person going to Exile Island when he submits his pick

Draft order (captains chosen by random.org):
Tribe 1 (acketyack)
Tribe 3 (nfet)
Tribe 2 (FishNasty)

ELIGIBLE PITCHERS (in order of career strikeouts)
Nolan Ryan
Randy Johnson
Roger Clemens
Steve Carlton
Bert Blyleven
Tom Seaver
Don Sutton
Gaylord Perry
Walter Johnson
Greg Maddux

acketyack and Tribe 1 are up

WOW!!
8/17/2010 11:02 PM
Worth staying up for trop?
8/17/2010 11:11 PM
Just curious josh, is it a snake style draft or is it tribe 1 picks 2 pitchers, then tribe 3 picks two pitchers, then tribe 2 picks 2 pitchers?
8/17/2010 11:12 PM
And just so I understand it correctly, each of us will play 2 games again, 1 each of the two different pitchers and their teams that we have chosen?
8/17/2010 11:14 PM

Well that certainly did not go as planned.
