It will be easier to manage the rest of the game from a new thread. Rules and such posted in the original thread are still valid.

Survivors! Congratulations on making it to the final eight. You will form four teams of two. Each Survivor player will pick a team and season to use for two games against one player from another mini-tribe. Your team/season must be from the 1930s. If a team/season is taken more than once, it will be thrown out and a replacement must be picked from a team/season not already taken. You must use a different SP in each game.

The two-person tribes for this round will be chosen by the players, in order of winning (or losing, as the case may be) percentage. Thanks to his run through the most-recent challenge, kneeneighbor — as the lone player with a winning record — will choose his tribemate first. nfet, soxyanks12 and The Taint are all at .500, and will choose their tribemates by sitemailing me a list putting their preferred partners in order. If there is a need to pick after that, we will proceed in order until all four pairs are set.

The two tribes that do best in the four games (tiebreakers are runs differential, fewest runs allowed, then if needed a tiebreaker game) will play each other to avoid going to Tribal Council. Six of the eight players will go to Tribal Council, but there will be a twist: The four players knocked out in the first round will go to Tribal Council with one vote against them each.

REMAINING BONUSES (Expire when we are down to four players)
Toddleduc: - You may expand the eligible seasons in picking a team by 3 years. For example, if the challenge requires a National League team from the 1980s, you could pick a team from 1977-1992.
kneeneighbor: You may have the opposing pitcher ejected one time in the 7th or 8th inning.
The Taint: One SP may be used twice by your tribe in a challenge that otherwise disallows it.
The Taint: You can ask me (and get a truthful answer) one time whether a specific player has an immunity idol.

1 kneeneighbor (7-6) .538
2 nfet (5-5) .500
2 soxyanks (7-7) .500
2 The Taint (7-7) .500
5 tropicana (5-6) .454
6 acketyack (6-8) .428
7 bastanredsox (6-10) .375
8 toddleduc (3-7) .300

kneeneighbor, you may choose a tribemate when ready. nfet, soxyanks12 and The Taint should send me a list of their preferences for partners. I ask that you do not consult with each other in forming your lists. If I do not have one of those three lists within 24 hours of kneeneighbor making a choice, that person will forfeit the right to choose his partner.

Post or sitemail me with any questions.

The four players knocked out in the first round will go to Tribal Council with one vote against them each.

Question: What first round would that be?
10/11/2010 12:03 AM
I think he means the "round" that decides who the top two pairs are.

Josh, the two winners won't vote?
10/11/2010 12:14 AM
The first round would be the first set of games. There will be four players who do not move on to the second round, and those four will each head to Tribal Council with one vote to their name. The two pairs that win the first round of games will play each other. The losers of that second round of games will go to Tribal Council, but will not have any votes already against them. The pair that wins the challenge will not go to Tribal Council (I've edited the description to make it more clear, eliminating the confusing reference to immunity), and thus will not vote. In the end, six of the eight players will vote one of those six out.

Sorry for the complexity. I'm trying to make the research/choice of teams and playing the challenges matter, and avoid having the challenges be unimportant because people feel they have strong enough alliances. In the real world, it makes sense to base a lot of the results on alliances, since they are all formed by strangers during the course of the game. Because we all have various levels of familiarity with each other, in this game alliances have more to do with the players than with playing the game itself.

And to be clear, while you will be playing in pairs, each of you will choose your own team. You certainly can help each other with research and with the choice, but you will each use different teams.

One question, can I choose anyone or just one of the bottom 4 in terms or record? I wont be on much today but will be tonight and hopefully then I will make my pick.

Josh- Also guessing that each round resets the starting pitching? And are the pitching choices for each team or each person. Meaning, how many games are there in first round, then second? How many different starting pitching will we need is what it comes down to.
10/11/2010 6:54 PM
Pitching will reset for the second (final) round
Each Survivor will play two games in the first round, using two different pitchers, against one Survivor from another tribe.
Each member of the two-person tribe will have different teams, so the pitchers will not be the same. You'll need to use a minimum of two SP (excluding bonuses if used)
SP cannot be used in relief

IMPORTANT: Do not post your choice of team here. Sitemail it to me. If I do not receive your pick by noon Wednesday, I will sitemail you a reminder and you will have a few hours to get it to me before a team is randomly chosen for you.

Players should not consult anyone other than their partner for this challenge about team selections.
