Hey toddle, unless you're on late tonight, I probably am not available today...working til 4-ish then covering a HS football game. Tomorrow I work epically early but am off by 3:30 Central...should be around in some form the rest of the day.

Played ack, in game 1 the 35 Pirates win 5-4 in a thriller. Blanton pitched the yanks down against Ruffing.

In game 2, the 35 pirates win game 2 5-0. We jumped out early against Gomez and Swift did the rest. Good series.


Also Josh a question for future reference that came up. Lets say you have walter Johnson pitching game 1. But in game 2, you use him as a ph, but he doesnt pitch. Is that okay or against the rules?

That would be fine Bastan. The rule says SP may not pitch in relief, not that they may not play in the game at all. However ... not getting him subbed out before he takes the mound would be grounds for a forfeit (unless that occurs because of the game freezing that manager out).

Dramatics aside, if an illegal pitcher threw in the second game, kneeneighbor has the option of requesting that it be replayed.

The A's come up with a 3-1 win behind a DOMINANT Lefty Grove complete game. 10 Strikeouts, including The Babe three times. It was a three run second that accounted for all of the A's runs, the big hit being a two run triple from mule haas.
