How is life in the LIVE realm these days? Spoooorts still playing himself? Any Bilfert sightings?
I'm coming up on my one year anniversary of putting down LIVE play and thought I would check in and wish everyone a Happy T'giving.

Dtown contacted me a week or two back and it sounded like he has the itch to play again. I think he needs to make a comeback.

Hello All,

I have been out myself for over a year but I am back.  I look forward to competing in live leagues again with all of you.  It looks like things are a bit slow around here.  I am signed up for one league if it ever gets going and I am looking for others.

ONe question:

If I go and play a standard open league, do I only get 1/2 prizes or something like that  (if I win) since I have 8 championships.  I would like to jump in a league to get my feet wet again, but I hate that rule.  Just checking to see if it changed.

The Lions break my heart yet again. Crazy thing was that I was actually hopeful for a promising season, but Stafford has obviously proven that he can't stay on the field. I guess we will just have to sit back and wait through another off season to see how he looks next year. But if he gets hurt again they are going to have to start thinking about a replacement.

With winter coming up there is a good chance I hop in a league or two. I just want to make sure my computer can still run the applet smoothly, that was one of the reasons I stopped playing. Everytime I would log on and start my first game, it would crash. I eventually got fed up and that resulted in me missing a minimum for the first time. Rather than joining other leagues and risking that happening again I just decided to give myself a break. With that let me ask: Do games still crash often? Does the LIVE still go down at random times? Or is it pretty much the same as it always was? Who has been running the majority of the leagues the last year...is habs still around?

habs and joshkvt run the majority of the leagues.

I have not seen LIVE go down across the board for a long time but crashes do still happen however I cannot recall the last time for me. I do know that josh was having a similar issue of the first game crashing recently perhaps ask him if he still is having that problem.

You'll have more luck asking that question in the SimLeague forum. Most of the live players don't do a lot of non-live leagues, and those that do tend to play in theme leagues, not open leagues.

I'm not running many leagues. Other than one progressive, I don't have any going right now. Few are filling up at 24, and the only league I'm trying to get going now is USA, which is stuck at 17.

I'm freezing a lot the first time I play, but it's not crashing. I have to quit, then get back on and sometimes it takes 3-4 tries. I generally end up missing a half-inning or so, but once I get back in, I don't have the trouble again as long as I stay logged in to live. I'm sure there's a solution to that, but I haven't spent any time trying to find it. Crashes have been very rare for the past few months, and thanks to lloyd1955 one of the main causes of crashes has been fixed.

Josh is also running the current season of Survivor and BastanRedsox is on the hook for the following season.

I really don't run much of late.  I passed a pair of leagues over to dlrawson, and only recently started the User Name league (franchise 100 is the only other).  Of course, I run several progressives, but don't really consider those the kinds of leagues that guys are trying to fill in these forums.

Good to "hear" you once again dtown.  The live community can always use you back!
