Dahsdebater- You were the only one that was slept on your team, what do you wish had gone differently?

I really think that a big part of the reason I got swept was the matchup I had.  The 1906 Cubs have some TOUGH pitching.  As I posted, my .357 hitting Musial didn't get a hit until his 4th PA in game 3.  He went 1/13 with no walks.  The hit was a single.  That was slightly bad luck, but tato's '06 Mordecai was tough as nails and started two games.  Game 2 was no picnic either...  I still stand by my team choice; I had a very good 1st starter and solid 2nd starter, a solid bullpen pitcher, and a consistent offense.  Things just didn't break my way.

Kneeneighbor- Being the person who picked the Cardinals, do you think you burned some bridges with some of your tribemates?

I think quite the opposite, actually.  Clearly he didn't take the team I did.  Nevertheless, there's something to be said for him being the one to get on first and claim a team to try to put the tribe in the best position to win.  That's not burning any bridges with me...

If I'd read the challenge first, I'd have taken the Cardinals without hesitation.

Dubrightway- Are any alliances starting to form that you have heard of?

I havnt heard.  I think voting off members of the other tribe has softened the need for an alliance with most. or maybe has allowed people to keep the alliance more quiet then previous Survivors.

I still would've taken the Cardinals. They are historically the better club and almost every series in this round came down to the final at-bat.

I think anyone taking the Cardinals would have been making a knee-jerk reaction.  "Historically the better club" doesn't really matter here.  We were playing 3-game series and allowing 1 starter to make 2 of the 3 starts.  It seems pretty obvious to me that the team with the better aces was going to be at a big advantage.  The Cardinals don't really have an answer for Mordecai Brown, and it showed in my series and several others.  If I'd been the other tribe I would have been using even more 1900s clubs to really throw him at us.

The results are such a small sample size they should be almost completely ignored. The Cubs team I used had a great Hack Wilson season, and he collected one hit in three games. That does not make Hack Wilson a lousy hitter.

If the challenge had been posted with teams to be selected at some later time, allowing for research, I'd have looked more deeply and might not have preferred the Cardinals. But with first-come, first-get, I'd have made a quick call on the team I thought would offer better options for each series. So barring time for research, yes, I'd have jumped on the Cardinals.

The problem with the Mordici teams is that they had no pen. ANd I mean no pen. In my matchup the Cubs didnt have a RP to use. That said Mordici beat us while he was pitching in the 30s in the 9th
