Actually, swamp is not right about this one. Because the very economic conflict he points has its roots in slavery. The South did not want to lose their slaves. They were very afraid that eventually they would be outnumbered by the non-slave states and that those states would outlaw slavery across the entire nation. Rather than risk that, they chose to attempt succession so they could have their own separate slave-permitting country. That was at the heart of the states's rights issue. So while most people saw other reasons for war, the critical ones revolved around the question of slavery.

This again plays into the current Democratic talking points that all the Conservatives are crazy, stupid or evil.

I have been one of the most active and inteligent posters in this forum. The liberals on the board have launched a campaign to brand me crazy.

This is easier than actually having me destroy them in public debate. The left wing ideas have no support among average Americans.

No, Swamp, it plays into the fact that you really have no strength in point of debate but feel that everything you say is fact by virtue of you saying it even when it is idiocy. You have been active, You have not been intelligent. You destroy no one in debate; you either leave them exasperated by your lack of regard for fact or they tire of laughing at the weakness of your self'-perceived uber-arguments based in fantasy and move on. Whether so-called left-wing ideas have no support, well, first of all, what ideas ae you talking of and, second, is majority support a sign of righteousness? Are you saying the majority that voted for Obama were right?
