key component of Speedy's analysis he left out:

Speed's Payroll: $124.1 M
Brain's Payroll: $82.3 M (and I'm paying TWO coaches!)

He's spending 1.5x what I am.
I doubt I could spend $124M and NOT have all guys that have 125 everything!

Dood. You can't take your money with you when you die. Better get to spending.

Also, brain had to cut a bunch of old guys. He had a fairly high payroll himself (something like a billion dollars). Unfortunately for him, he now is rebuilding. I just reload!  All my doods are young or hitting their prime, not to mention locked up.

But you're right. I had my little dynasty (3 Cups in 4 years). The team I had wasn't going to take the crown back from Speed's crew, so it was time to start over. And since the cupboard isn't overflowing with 26 skaters of every flavor under the sun anymore, I'm having to compromise. Schoborg and Lorimer are playing forward despite STR>SPD, Jollie is on SC1 despite ****** stamina (I'm hoping he takes the hint). And, at least compared to what I'm used to, my forwards couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. They'll get there though.

Also, you're going to have to open the checkbook at the end of this year for Zigich/Jollie/Bogdanov/Tarasov/Petrov/Lienke. Have fun with those negotiations. Looks to me it'll run you about 35-45 mil.

I was so broke after that missed season that I'm still paying loans back. Thank jeebus I was able to keep the team intact, but those loans cost me bigtime. My networth should start to rise soon at a faster clip.....I had two loans fall off, and one more is going to fall off at the end of the season. I had big loans I had to pay on during the missed season, and had to pull out other loans to cover. That sucked balls.

Oh Zigich, Jollie, Petrov and Lienke are all going to double their pay. Tarasov actually won't hurt me too bad. I overpaid for him the 1st time, like you do with all free agents, so he won't be due THAT big of a raise. Actually, Zigich, Tarasov and Lienke have such good attitudes, I might get a little bit of a hometown discount on them. I dunno about Bogdanov. Been trying to find a way to upgrade him. But HE's got a good attitude and will take a hometown discount too. I'll get 'em all for about $15M more than they're making now.

When Channer gets back into the lineup (8 more days, neck injury), Hugh Buntin will be on the trade block in the superleague.  He's 35 and in his contract year.  Sounds like a no-brainer for probie.

Looking for an under-30 top 6 offensive forward or might even prefer a  in the 80-85 overall range.

Do me a favor. Find out for me what the total will be. I'm curious to see how close I came. Just offer them the contract, but don't sign them. You can figure out exactly how much they would cost right now.
