I'm trying to decide whose the bigger jagoff in the Goon League?

NH Penguins, who thinks everyone who's ever played GHL is a noob and a moron and offers trades you can only refuse...

OR

Twin City Bombers, who has fixated on getting ONE guy from me, a measley 70 overall I really don't want to give up (a PP Ace with 81 off, 73 def I use as a 2nd-line PK). After he messaged me, I sent him an offer of my floor sweepings who don't even play, my back up goalie and the guy he wants, for a starting goalie and a top shelf defenseman.

If he goes for it, I'm in the Final Four.
Twin City sent me a request last week, wanting a young goalie and 6 million cash from me for a 39 year old goalie and 2 spare parts.  I quickly rejected teh offer.

Now I see a message from them saying: "I'd like to make a trade with you that will help you build your team. Please check my roster and see what you might need and I'll see if I can do it for you."

Well, uh, the last offer you made wasn't going to help build my team.  So I don't think I believe that you are looking out for my best interests.

Anglers get crushed.

He took the deal, gave me a 79 overall goalie and 76 overall defenseman in exchange for a 73 overall and three 70 overalls. Took a bunch of dead salary off my hands and gave me a legit starting goalie that's only 24 years old (and of course, the hardest thing for a new team to find are defensive players).

Then the '***** decided to stop scoring. Which they do from time to time. 3pts out with seven games to play.

The poor plucky '***** pulled within one point of eighth with three to play - vs. Greene Goblins, Rusty and Redwoods. OTL vs. Goblins puts us two back with two to play vs. playoff teams.

Top eight offenses in the Goon League are 1-8 in the standings. Poor #6 defense can't overcome frequent offensile dysfunction.

Money to spend, but I want to wait until I'm either in, or mathematically eliminated to spend it. Make the playoffs - expand the rink to maximize cha-ching. Miss playoffs, training and scouting get bumped to get a look at the draft and maximize improvement over the offseason.

I HATE waiting. I'm not famous for my patience.

There's a chance I'm gonna have to retire from GHL.  It's just too virus-y.

Right now the only thing keeping me in is my sense of obligation to you guys.

This was why I left. I shouldn't have been on the site from my work computer but couldn't resist the temptation, got hit with a virus and realized that since I sometimes have no choice but to work from home I had to bail.

Awesome game though. Very addictive. If I ever win the lottery that I don't get around to buying tickets for, I'll try to host it or create something close to it.

I use Norton Internet Security with the auto-protect ON. It blocks everything from GHL and brags about it.

Also, anyone who is still using IE instead of Firefox or Chrome should be taken out and beaten, stabbed, shot, hung, crucified, buried, dug up after three days and beaten again. For their own good of course.

Mehtinks most of when GHL emits is tailored to exploit the 1,001 security vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer.

and BCart recently updated the SSL security, so it shouldn't be as bad as it has been.

I wouldn't mind if somehow we could arrange to legalize trades between the Superleague and the Deuce so we could consolidate the teams, bring over the one guy who's in the Deuce but not the Superleague, then shut down the Deuce. The Deuce is kind of beat with nothing left to do but watch me win Championships. With the cap on, and only nine active players, there isn't really any way to tinker with the rosters or anything. But since I was the last one into the Deuce, I don't want to just waste the sweat I put in, first in catching up, then in building a winner.

But my life would go on if we just buried it.

get rid of the cap and breathe some life into it
12/31/2011 3:49 PM
or make it public to get it more full...

That too

'***** go 7-1-1 in their last nine, but are going to fall short. Head start on offseason mode then.

Playoff pairings set in the Superleague. Some traditional powers in underdog roles.

SSS vs. Rusty
Osaka vs. St. Louie.
Steel City vs. NHN
Pitty vs. Wylie.
