Here are the local headlines the Republican presidential candidate woke up to: “Mitt Romney casts doubt on London 2012 preparations” (The Times of London) and “Mitt Romney questions whether Britain is ready for Games” (The Daily Telegraph).

Nice things to say when you are a guest. Of course PM Cameron had a great comeback:

"This is a time of some economic difficulty for the UK but look at what we are capable of achieving as nation even at a difficult economic time," Cameron said, according to The Telegraph of London. "We are holding an Olympic Games in one of the busiest, most active, bustling cities anywhere in the world. Of course it's easier if you hold an Olympic Games in the middle of nowhere."
Piers Morgan said Romney was correct.  Imagine that.
Hahaha. Piers Morgan said he was correct, so he must of been. I'm sure all his time spent judging Americas Got talent or whatever other reality show he was judging prepared him to make such an astute evaluation. He's a hack.

Did he say the Brits "didn't build that"?
“I have learned from my Olympic experience that if you have people who really understand how Washington works and have personal associations there you can get money to help build economic development opportunities,” Romney says.

“We actually received over $410 million from the federal government for the Olympic games. That is a huge increase over anything ever done before and we did that by going after every agency of government,” he says.

“She said, ‘Why don’t I get the Department of Education to buy tickets to the Paralympics so that high school and grade school kids can go to the Paralympics?’ She literally got, I believe the number  was over $1 million from the Department of Education, funding to buy tickets for kids,” Romney said.  “This way we got kids there and we also got additional revenues that we wouldn’t have had.  That kind of creativity I want to bring to everything we do.”

Yep...even the things he touts as evidence of his personal success, he did not accomplish without government help.
The conservative image of the rugged individualist who accomplishes everything wholly on their own and without help is a myth.
So running the Olympics is irrelevant, because the govt pitched in?  Really?  Interesting.
Man, the point went pretty ******* far over your head there.
The funny thing is, you think that, and you think you made a good argument.

The Brit press and the US press was all over all the problems before the games started.  But Mitt was wrong?

I didn't make any argument. I just know you missed the point, badly.

No clue, but using Piers Morgan as any kind of metric about what is right or wrong is pretty funny.

Piers Morgan is an influential host on CNN!
7/27/2012 11:25 PM

That is like being the best hockey player in all of Ecuador.

7/27/2012 11:38 PM

Really? Do they have Ecuadorian hockey in airports and hotel lobbys?

7/28/2012 12:53 AM
Of course not. People in airports and hotels don't want to get hit by flying pucks.

Why do you always feel the need to prop up people you don't agree with? You do the same with radio talk show hosts that no ones heard of.
7/28/2012 8:22 AM
So it is your position that the guy that replaced Larry King on CNN is "unheard of"?

And why are Conservative top ten radio hosts open game but liberal top ten radio hosts are not?
7/28/2012 11:07 AM
I didn't say Piers was unheard of, numbnuts. Plenty of people watched America's Got Talent when he was there.

I wasted a couple minutes trying to find progressive radio ratings and didn't come up with anything. I see Rush and Hannity get 14M+. Wikipedia shows no progressive in the top 18 of radio listeners.

The difference between conservative and liberal radio hosts is substantial, since the Speaker of the House asks Rush for advice while progressive is radio is, by comparison, non-existent with the crash and burn of Air America.
