What he means is that you are stating that a US election was fixed. There is evidence that it was, as there was in Ukraine. That either everyone knows and is keeping quiet, or that no one knows and you are a super genius. Or the more common sense conclusion that a lot of people suspect it, but nothing was done about it. Somehow you left that out. Of course, something was done in Ukraine, eventually resulting in another round of elections. And what do you know, with a little international scrutiny, the results were very different. Go figure.

Do either of those seem logical? See above.

The idea that there is some power that can create election results seems oddly crazy. How could it happen? How could no one know about it? And yet it did happen in Ukraine. Why couldn't it happen here? Give me one logical reason.

So to repeat Jclark when we examine your point we just say...

WOW In lieu of anything of substance.

I observed the elections in Ukraine in person.  There was all kinds of cool stuff that observers found.  Disappearing ink.  People throwing ballots in the boxes on fire.  Police presence throughout the polling places.  Our precinct's ballots were tossed completely ridiculous  technicalities.  Comparing the Ukrainian experience to the US experience is pretty absurd - unless you think that Canada is behind all of this.

Really, Opie? Well, I observed the elections in this country in person. The long lines in poorer precincts, the voting machines (manufactured by a major Republican donor, no less) that couldn't be audited. But you just keep telling yourself it couldn't happen here.

As long as government is running elections, there will be lines.  It's actually good practice for going to the hospital soon.

The law allows for a specific regulation to be applied to marriage for everyone.
Except straight people can marry, gay people can't. The regulation is tied to a discriminatory conception of marriage; it can't help but be discriminatory.
And since you have no detectable sense of empathy, let me try to phrase this in a way you'll understand.

Suppose the government denies benefits to anyone over 200 pounds. Is this discriminatory?

Who gives the government the power to anything in the first place?

See now that is specific.

If there was a law that said gays couldnt get married you could complain.

If there was a law that said no one could eat pierogis I wouldnt like it, but I couldnt claim it was discriminatory.

It depends...

The first power came from the Constitution.

Most of the stuff that the government does now is based on FDR's personal beliefs.

THERE ARE SUCH LAWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No. There are laws that say only male and female couples can get married. If a gay person wanted to marry someone of the opposite sex they are allowed.

I of course realize that no gay person wants to marry someone of the opposite sex.

I just do not think this raises to the level of a civil right. If you can get the people to vote for your cause it is law.

If you cant I dont want the feds to push around the states on this.
