Prof,

Back in 1984, our ship pulled into Haifa, Israel for a port visit.  Ate at a little streetside pizza joint that had, among other things, Tuna pizza.  Liking tuna, I was intrigued by it - never thought of putting the two together.  Absolutely, one of the best pizza's I've ever eaten!

Scrapple is great, when I was a kid my dad would help our neighbor butcher pigs in return for the scrapple he made.....and it's a Pennsylvania Dutch thing....

Been gone for a while and thought I would wander back in for a look see. Enjoying the World Series( although had to go to bed before game ended in 14 innings last night) See a lot of the same people still around. I remember Phatt cat and thought he was a good dude.

Might try a league. I was addicted to this for several years.

Yeah, I was put off by it too at first - and by putting tuna in normal spaghetti tomato sauce to give it more substance (an ex-girlfriend used to cook that as a default supper, spaghetti with tomato sauce with tuna in it).

I thought "how can you Italians complain about how Hawaii or California is ruining pizza by putting pineapple on it, if you put tuna on it ?

I have never tried pineapple pizza. Who knows?

But tuna on pizza is delicious and when I work at home and want to make a fast meal for myself and am tired of sandwiches I boil some spaghetti, pull out a jarred sauce and put some tuna in it in the pan to heat up with a little olive oil, and have a nice lunch !

Here are some variations:

pizza with tuna and olives:

pizza with cherry tomatoes, basil and tuna:

pizza with tuna and onions:

finally, pizza with tuna, black and green olives and sliced hard-boiled egg:
