Yeah, I think it was, but they were close together.  I suspect that the temporal proximity of those is just a coincidence.

Haven't watched a Sandler film since Grown Ups or Jack and Jill, whichever came first. Those movies were terrible

Grown Ups was awesome...  Grown Ups 2 was pretty terrible, though.

I'm not sure that's a fair characterization.  Happy Madison has released 35 films in theaters, and 30 of them have recouped above production in theater gross.  That includes 5 films that grossed over $200 million, and 7 more at over $150 million.  It's not LOTR money, but compared to the production costs of most of those films it's a huge profit.  He may not be good at making great cinema, but Adam Sandler is undoubtedly good at making money.
