what if you could choose all of the studio albums,..no greatest hits or live albums of either springstein or Dylan or elvis Costello for the desert island but you could not include highway 61 or born to run or this years model.......a tougher more difficult choice then one might think....I really believe bruce then comes in third and maybe elvis comes in first by a nose.

For Bob Dylan, I'd have to add:

Mozambique
Hurricane
Tight Connection To My Heart
Make You Feel My Love
Rainy Day Women #12 and 35
Shelter From The Storm
It Ain't Me Babe
Lay Lady Lay
Silvio
Knockin' On Heaven's Door

EDIT: Forgot to add - "George Jackson"

I hear that tom waits and bob Dylan are going to do a duo album of simon and garfunkle songs.

Bob Dylan did a duet -- both parts! -- of Simon and Garfunkel's "The Boxer" on his critically-panned Self Portrait album (an album I kind of like, actually).  After all these years, I still can't figure out exactly what the gag was with "The Boxer" -- it sure doesn't seem like Dylan liked the song and was trying to do it justice, but who knows.

That whole album was a Dylan protest against his record company which held him to a contract he wanted to leave and required him to put out a certain number of albums during that period.

So he did a whole album called "Self Portrait" of OTHER PEOPLE'S songs !

I particularly like his rendition of "Big Yellow Taxi" by Joni Mitchell.
