I want into the red Sox tournament. How much to play. My favorite memory is watching Tony C. hitting balls over the green monster

When can I join and when do we start?

Count me in!

My favorite memory was back in either 2001 or 2002. I was either a junior or senior in HS, a local tuxedo shop was running a deal that if you rented a tux they would give you two Red Sox tickets. So about 15 of us rented tuxedos there for our prom and got 2 tickets each. It ended up being a game in June against the Tigers. So there's 30 of us enjoying the end of the school year in the most magical place on earth! What made this game so awesome was that it went 18 innings!!! We definitely gotour moneys worth...free tickets for renting a tux that we would have rented anyways. As the game went into extra innings the crowd began to get smaller and smaller as each inning passed and the hours went by. By the 18th innings,it was almost 1am (the game lasted almost 6 hours) and a crowd of 32,000 plus had dwindled to about 5,000. All 30 of us were still in the bleachers, banging on the chairs and walls...anything to make noise...and to keep ourselves awake. The 18th inning started with Tim Wakefield making an appearance in a game he never dreamed of pitching in as he started a game just days earlier. He pitched a shut out inning, and in the bottom of the 18th, Shea Hillenbrand hit a walk out home run into the screen (the seats were not there yet) over the monster!! All 30 of us and the other 5,000 fans who were still there made enough noise where if you closed your eyes you would of thought the place was still packed!

That wasn't the end of our night though. Because the game ran so late, the T (Boston's public train system) had stopped running trains! How were 30 guys suppose to get back to our cars in Newton, MA?!?! Our first bright idea was to walk the tracks (probably some 5-7 miles) in pitch black darkness back to our cars. Fortunately, one of the smarter guys in our group decided that walking train tracks (with the possibly that there might be a train or two finishing their night, and whatever else would be out there) was not the best of ideas. We didn't have enough money to get all 30 of us back to Newton with taxi's. Ultimately, we asked 4-5 taxi drivers how far our money could get us. It got us to about 1-1.5 miles from our cars, and we jubilantly walked the rest of the way! Definitely a night none of of will every forget!

That's just one of the many great memories that the Red Sox and Fenway Park have given me! I still keep score of every game, while going to some 25-30 games a year (from Springfield, MA)...many of which I go to solo if no one else wants in! I'd absolutely love to be in this league!

They said in literally the post right above yours that they would have an update within the next 7-10 days, now that there are enough owners interested

We're currently attempting to add a couple of Boston celebrities or baseball writers to the tournament. Please bear with us and we'll have some more concrete details soon.

I am interested. Became a Sox fan in 86, I was 10. I was in attendance for Clemens' 20K game in Detroit 1996. Watched pedro toss a few gems in Detroit as well.

So because I have to work on Wednesday, does that mean I can't participate in the draft? Usually, live drafts I've been a part of take place over a couple of days.
4/3/2016 4:23 PM
It could mean you'll be late to the party, but you definitely won't miss the draft entirely. We set it up so that one person is "on the clock" every 15 minutes, beginning at 10 AM EST and ending at 10 PM EST each day. With 30 teams and 25 players per team, the draft will take about two weeks, with each team making one or two picks each day.

Once the draft order is set, we'll know when each team will be on the clock, which should help for planning purposes. On Wednesday, you might pick at 2:15 and 8:30, for example.

Over the course of two weeks, nearly everyone will have the occasional conflict with a draft time. But if you miss a pick, you can make a selection at any time afterward. A couple players may have come off the board between the time you were on the clock and the time you are actually able to make your selection, but hopefully the penalty won't be too severe.
