Yes, in leagues where I have a choice, I always draft my setup/closer types from among real life starters.  A stud pitcher who can give you 100+ pitches in an appearance is way more valuable in the post-season than a real life reliever who's tired after 15-20 pitches.  I'm not sure if WIS charges more for pitchers based on higher IP/G, but IMO they should.

I'd say there's a tradeoff. If the choice is Milacki or anyone (even Mike Adams), I'd take Milacki. But there are cases where the reliever option is notably better and the short-IP starter isn't too much better than your SPs. There, the RP becomes the better option.

That's why I said "where I have a choice."  I play mostly themes that severely restrict the player pool so I know it's not always possible to find good low-inning starters.

Gotta love the playoffs.

There is probably a built in algorithm on how your team performs in the playoffs depending on how much money you've spent playing the game. The more you spend, the more free credits WIS is willing to dish out to you.

Kidding!!! :-)

It seems that in OLs no matter how good your AAA players are they stink the playoffs. I have a hard time in the playoffs...doesn't matter how many games I win in the regular season I tend to lose in the divisional series all the time.
this is one thing I have found to be true. Seems as if the SIM has a rook choke algorithm. Especially true of pitchers.

This doesn't seem unusual - the playoffs by definition are matches against the other best teams. ALL playoff teams combined have a .500 winning record in the playoffs. .480 seems pretty close to expectations.

If a World Series team wins 3 out of 7 games in the world series, that is a .429 winning percentage. So you are doing better on average than any team that came within a win of a world championship.

Teams that lose a WS by one game will have been at least 2 games over .500 for the playoffs prior to the WS (assuming normal league format).

Regardless, I look at other owners who win at a similar percentage to myself in the regular season and see them doing much better than myself in the postseason. Most owners, regardless of reg season win%, seem to win in the playoffs an a .020-.050 lower rate. Mine is .110 lower compared to my current reg season win%. It is a weird phenomenon
