the hitting pitcher strategy is dead. too expensive. if you want mr bob try the 1887 version.

Yeah, pitchers that can hit just cost too much now.  I'm guessing the next update will adjust Caruthers, Ruths and others down a bit.

just finished i think my 2nd time trying him last time won 53 games? (before update) County Stadium was homefield. 94-68 Made playoffs just lost 1st game 3-1 to 94 maddux.

pretty much 1 2a 2b with some days off but did it manually. kind of a hassle but fun wouldnt use him too much. no decision 2nd playoff game but team won. going up against maddux again in game 5.

I don't think so.  He was simply "discovered," and he also became more affordable on a relative basis when all the big hitting pitchers like Mr. Bob, Ruth, Tannehill and Big Train got price increases and he didn't.  I know guys like ligapelota have used him for years before he became a fad.
