Over 40 + plays (range) Topic

I was just looking at the year end stats for a sad-sack 1910 prog team of mine, and noticed a player with 40 + plays: Dode Paskert.  He had 30 of the plays in the OF, and 10 at 1B.

It occurred to me that I couldn't recall seeing a player with as many as 40 plus plays, so I looked at stats in multi-season leagues I'm currently in (totaling about 50 seasons) and found only 1 other player with 40 or more plus plays: 2B Hobe Ferris, from the same prog team back in 1907, with 41.

Can anyone else recall a player with 40 or more plus plays?  Anyone ever see 50?

I recall having the 1919 Art Fletcher get me 40+ at SS sometime ago... I think he had about 35 errors or so.

I had an Erstad with over 40 before the last update...  My best since then was a buck weaver at short.

I currently have 1901 Nap Lajoie in a theme league with 17 + plays at 2B in just 55 games (which works out to just over 50+ plays/162 games).  Unfortunately I've had to play him mostly at SS (where he's also got A+ range, but not as good -- he's got 6 + plays in 67 games there).

1901 Lajoie looks like the stud. He's used 4 times in a theme league I'm in and after 156 games he has 30 35 38 and 39 + plays.

I recently saw Horace Clarke`68  with 32 + plays at 2B through 120 games for one of the teams I was competing against in an $80 MM open league.  If I'd known that crazystengel would ask if anyone had seen 40 for a season, I would have paid more attention the rest of the way.  The team went on to win the WS, with a very pricey Jake Daubert at 1B.
Well I played against this guy the second time he fielded this team.I was in the same DIV he had a 20+ game lead after about 60 games.Won the div by 24 & I win like 96 then beat him out in the playoffs & won the series. His team Clarke had 30+ the whole team had 119+ ,13-,& 60 errors pretty good and that pricey Daubert had 22+ ,0- & 1 error. He hit .275,obp.347,slg.370 2b-11,3b-10,hr-10,102 rbi $7+ mil for them numbers is a little high for me.

Man, 6mil for a .298 OBP. Ouch. I don't think he's ever shown up in any of my draft searches and I hope he doesn't start!

I have a '94 Lance Johnson with 28 through 103 OL games, should be able to reach 40 by end of season.
exactly 40, www.whatifsports.com/mlb-l/playerprofile.asp
why not just use billy north? better range, better offense.

North would hit fewer triples, I'm betting that he used the '94 Johnson to maximize the triples effect of the +2 rating at ATT. And it worked, he had 23. Still, with only 58 runs scored, you can't call him anything other than a dud.

I've seen more than 40 in Coors leagues...
