ive noticed in live play errors are so often its almost comical, every game seems to have an error. and when there is not an error it will be top 8 up 4-2 and gold glover cal ripken botches a routine groundbal, leading to 3, 2 out hits and a loss

i was wondering if in simulation mode if errors are still ridiculously high

Gold glove doesn't mean much. What was the fielding rating? Also if you have pitchers from bad defensive eras, such as the deadball era, that will also hurt your defense, as will facing deadball hitters.
