1. It's doubtful we'd want to move to that ahead of MLB doing it
2. It's not sure it'd be a good idea even if and after MLB did it.  After all, we only have 24 teams in an OL.  I don't think it makes sense to have 5 teams out of 12 in each league make the playoffs.
3. There will still be plenty of occasions when teams have an opportunity to make the playoffs while resting.  More of them, in fact.

I am not in favor of an additional wild card in either MLB or WIS.  As llamanuts, pionts out, the ration of playoff teams to total seems seems reasonable at  8 of 24 (or 8 of 30 in MLB).  Having more teams make the playoffs will just further dilute the regular season.  More importantly another playoff round will randomize the post-season in both MLB and  WIS even it is just one more game to decide the wild card.

If MLB goes to the new format (and it looks like it will) I doubt WIS will stay put with fewer playoff teams than MLB.

In this case, I think more playoff teams actually increases the importance of the regular season, because only 3 teams in each league get an automatic berth in the DS while the other two risk elimination after 1 game.

I think you're on to something TrentonJoe with that congressman elimination round, now that would be entertaining. And if you live near Trenton and aren't a Phillies Phan, THAT'S A VIOLATION!!!! Go Phillies, we should play more games until the baseball cards of Halliday, Lee, and Hamels kick in.

if we had more  members of the house of representatives, it would take less money to defeat an incumbent.

Home field advantage in MLB is debatable. Home field advantage in the SIM is a joke, and in fact may be negative.

Home field advantage in the sim depends on how well a user builds his team to take advantage of park factors. In real life, it has much more to do with the psychology of human beings. The sim has no psychology. Should WIS program a home-field advantage into the sim to compensate for this?

It's been shown that home field has minimal effect on the players.  It's the umpires who tend to make calls in favor of the home team, because they don't like getting booed.  The SIM has no umpires, and no fans to boo them.

I don't really mind the lack of home field advantage.  But I wouldn't be surprised if the format changed along with MLB.
