I like Damon.....he was a pretty solid CF until he left Boston, stole bases (400?), had a higher slugging % than I thought, and just accumulated stats.   I think he is kinda like  Rafael Palmerio  (minus the HR's) in the sense he just accumulated stats for 15 years.  Maybe Tom Glavine is a decent comparison.

every player but Palmero who has gotten 3000 hits has made it to the HOF..  I have never liked what Damon brings to the table in terms of stats but i dont think 3000 hits can be denied unless steroid use is attached somehow

Beltre looks like a HoFer in the making. judging by wins above replacement at baseball reference.   I think if he gets to 2500 hits and his defense holds up, he's a pretty safe bet to make it.  I don't think Damon makes it unless he gets 3000 hits.  (For more information on his chances without 3000 hits, see Staub, Rusty or Baines, Harold.)

I dont think Beltre is a hall of famer even if he rocks out for a few more years.  He struggled alot early in his career and even when he was good his OBP was low.  He did really have a really good 2004 season but I cant see him on the ballot. Damon I think should be on the ballot at some time and maybe make it in later, he has helped alot of teams win.

I dont think Beltre makes it because you have at least Rolen, Aramis Ramirez and Chipper from this era and then depending on whatever GayRod goes in as.....

Never thought of Damon as a HoF either...although that Captain Caveman hair and unibrow year was one of the best ever.  Right there with Oscar Gamble.

Aramis Ramirez to the Hall of Fame?  Not a chance.

Poor choice of words....I meant that Ramirez has been nearly as good as Beltre.

Actually Aramis Ramirez started in 1998 just like Beltre and has outperformed him.  To correct myself above...Ramirez has been BETTER vs. nearly as good.

Lets end this post.  Beltre...NOT A CHANCE.

Ramirez has been worth fewer than 25 war over his career.  Beltre has been worth just under 48 war.  Adjusted for park, Beltre has been a slightly better hitter.  What really puts Beltre over the top is his glove tho.

3000 HITS IS A LONGSHOT AT BEST HE'S 33 AND JUST REACHED 2000 HE WOULD HAVE TO AVERAGE  200 HITS A YEAR FOR FIVE SEASONS HE ONLY HAD 1 200 HIT SEASON IN HIS CAREER

I would not be pleased to see any name mentioned in this thread in the HOF. A-Rod deserves it if you give him a pass on the PEDs. I don't think he gets it. Not for a long time, if at all.
