Anyone do any estimates on what his 2012 $/IP might be? He's got to be on pace for one of those 'special' seasons for the sim.

I'd have to find elbirdo's formula, which is for an older version of the salary structure anyway, to really make an educated guess...  There are no great comparisons, particularly given the (frankly unreasonable) emphasis of sim salaries on K-rate.  The best comparison is '03 Gagne, I'm thinking Chapman will cost slightly more in spite of a higher HR rate and inferior normalization.  I'm guessing if he keeps his current stats $68K/IP, second to Mike Adams only.

I can't wait to try out Chapman.  Even more exciting though might be Huston Street, who currently has a 0.53 WHIP and might not pitch again this season.  Kimbrel is another one to look at.  Mike Trout and Andrew McCutchen are full season hitters I wouldn't mind using, Joey Votto for a partial season.

street will be good and will qualify with his IP.  His OAV is something like .093.   He will be relatively expensive, but with no homers allowed and good control, should be exciting.

If Street doesn't pitch again I think he's going to cost $78-$81K/inning.  Ridiculous.

Well TJ, on the plus side, R.A. Dickey, he of the 1.03 WHIP, should be fun to play with. Also, thanks to him, and Santana and Perez, I'd like to thank the Mets for providing years and years of continued excellent twistable teams.

Yes, I doubt he would be such a K machine as a starter, but I was just doing the simple math.  Maybe 300K's?
