The Salary Spreadsheet(s)... Topic

So the salary spreadsheet is pretty useful in that with appropriate manipulation it can provide some useful insights, but there are some data that don't appear in it that'd be even more useful - things like IP/G for pitchers, the 1B/100# 2B/100# BB/100# type numbers for hitters, etc.. Is there any way to get the more complete set of WIS-normalized player statistics in this way?

I imagine I could, say, acquire actual player stats from somewhere else, normalize manually, and combine with the current WIS spreadsheet to get salaries, but that doesn't feel too efficient.

The hard part is converting all of the shorter season players to per 162 if you go that route. I did something similar by downloading the Lehman database and normalizing all the data, but I had to create a PER/PA valuation and noted shorter seson players so I could mentally adjust them.

It's almost easier to start with the WIS spreadsheets and then add in all of the data you want (something I started doing recently, but haven't finished yet). I really wanted the 1B, 2B, 3B (and mostly) HR/100# numbers for hitters and I wanted ERC# numbers for pitchers.

The version that is there to download presently has ERC# (which is convenient, it'd be not so useful without it).

Upon consideration it is probably easier to write something to read stats from the draft center or the player pages or such and thus definitely have the same numbers the sim uses.

What about sending a ticket to admin requesting they add these things into the spreadsheets they provide? We already know they have to update the spreadsheets with the new players salaries coming out next month, perhaps they'll take it the next step further if enough of us simply ask them to.

I'll submit my ticket this morning.
