Don't battle a sim D2 school unless you are committed to spending a ridiculous amount of money. If it were a human D2, he might be going after more guys than he has slots, but not a sim.
no offense, but this is terrible advice. i never was much of a d3 player, but in my last 20 seasons or so of d3, i probably batled about a half dozen sims, and never lost. in rare situations, you can get unlucky, and lose. the trick is to pick carefully - generally 1 player on a 3 man class is going to be pretty costly, relatively. and you really only can afford to battle d2 sims from d3 if you have low cost HVs (got to be under 360 miles).
d2 vs d1 sims is more difficult, but still, i don't think ive ever lost one of those either. i admit, ive gotten lucky - but i would not even hesitate to say i would expect to win a battle with an upper division sim at least 90% of the time. but keep in mind if you pick foolishly - you are going for the primary target of a sim, and that target is 1500 miles away - then sure, you are pretty much screwed. i honestly don't think ive lost a battle to a sim in my entire HD career, and ive battled up a division for them probably near 20 times by now. maybe it happened once out of all those, but that would be the max.
