10 teams in the Sweet Sixteen.  Well then.

good god. is it possible you guys could still have an ALL ACC ELITE 8????? that would have to be the most insane thing in HD history.

i feel bad for the conferences around you, i mean god damn. assuming the worst case so far, that the 2 teams who lost lost in round 1, you guys would already have to be at 53K, with huge potential for more. holy ****... i mean really 10 teams still playing? if you guys only average 1 more game each, thats at least 42 games, or 70 thousand bonus money per team. i dont know what is more ridiculous honestly - having all your 6 man classes get 160K to play with (with ZERO rollover), or having your 1 man classes having at least 85K to play with. i could go for that... 1 spot, a cool 85 thousand. knowing me, id STILL take a walkon, but **** ;)

Final tally - only 7 made the Elite 8, but it is an all-ACC Final Four.  Final count should put us at $76,666 per team in postseason cash.

Jeez, reasonably close to the $1,000,000 mark, just 4 games away, that is absurd. Big East and SEC must be really bad for the ACC to be that consistently dominant.

absolutely ridiculous - coming from a guy who has lived and breathed the GLV tark every day for 5 years (although, it was just a normal conference when i came, it took ilke 1-1.5 years to become a dominant conf). thats like pulling 19k in d2 - we've pulled like 13. thats a BIG difference.

my hat is off to the ACC allen and all 12 of their coaches. really amazing job to all of you, i think you guys have set the water mark too high for any conference to ever hit again (unless its you guys, the past couple years you've just been amazing). i wish our conf could get there some day, but prospect of ever overtaking you guys for the top conf in HD history are virtually zero at this point - even to a coach like me - even in a conf like the GLV tark.

man, its so cool to think about - if you are in that conf, you have 1 scholarship, then with the 1.5k or whatever of FSS money, you are sitting on 93K for 1 guy. that is criminal! i suppose you guys can really go outside the 360 barrier with cash like that :O a 6 opening team with 0 rollover is looking at 168 thousand. and im sure with as much money as you guys get yearly, there are some years you roll over pretty much - just makes it that much more ridiculous. and as cool as it is to think about - i bet its a lot cooler actually having it :)

good luck to all the coaches in d1 Allen who aren't the ACC, i hope for your sake, you dont have a lot of openings :O or else, i hope you are in the pac 10 :O maybe they are far enough away to escape the wrath of the ACC...

The conference looks somewhat respectable right now but the Big East was really bad not too long ago.

My D3 resume of 30 very good, but not great, seasons was strong enough for me to qualify for a good number of Big East openings because the prestige had fallen to the D+ / C- level.  I don't see those openings too much any more.  Every now and then there is a SEC job I am qualified for as well but I'm pretty sure the Big East has historically been worse.

What's kind of interesting is that by looking at conference RPI this season, the Big Ten looks to be almost as poor as the Big East and SEC.  Don't know if that's a one season fluke or if the ACC dominance has swallowed whole another conference.

So 80k extra per team...literally no team is safe from losing players to ACC.

Plus any carryover.

Looking at the conference boards it looks seems that Virginia Tech didn't recruit this season and had full carryover plus whatever from before and will have a $200k recruiting budget.

Awesome.  I'm sure there will be some early entries from the ACC but right now the entire conference has 18 seniors.  They actually might not be able to do that much damage across Allen D1 because there aren't going to be enough open spots.

[edit] Forgot about walkons ... nevermind, they'll find a way to do some damage.

That 200k+ budget has to be the biggest recruiting budget ever in the post-superclass era. I wonder how long it would take a great group of coaches being transplanted in the BE or SEC in that world to chip into the ACC's dominance. I'm guessing every 4 and 5 star international recruit ends up with an ACC team. Imagine having 1 opening but having at least 92k to recruit?
