There are at least 4 players that work in the Venetian in Vegas, plus 2 others that are just starting to dabble in it. I think they'd go to one out here

Don't really enjoy playing my poker in the Venetian, though.  Everybody's too serious and the room is too quiet.  I like Caesar's much better, tend to have some real fun guys at every table there.

My first year in HD, (I started in Dec 2005); WIS organized a get-together one evening at a local watering hole here in Cincinnati. Now that it has taken off and we have coaches from across the country and Canada, I think WIS could organize a show once a year, maybe Atlanta, or even Vegas. My thought is a 1-day show with seminars and developer discussions.  Maybe bring in a couple of college coaches as guest speakers and invite vendors like Championship Products and Nike Basketball Clinics. Ask some of the legends of WIS to lead group discussions.  Etc.

do people still get together in cinci? i know this used to happen, but i thought it had stopped by the time i joined 5 years and a few months ago. or maybe it was 6 years and a few months. man, i dont even know, that means i have been playing way too long :O or maybe people just told me they stopped, because they thought i was creepy and didn't want me along. can't imagine why that would be, though.

anyway, if there is still an annual cinci WIS gathering, id definitely like to get in on that. assuming by watering hole, you mean strip club, and by "a get-together one evening", you mean after we have our fun, we bury the dead strippers in the woods. i guess just going to a bar would be fine too, as long as we still end the evening by burying dead strippers in the woods. or i guess we could get rid of them ted kennedy style. really, im flexible (not as flexible as a live stripper, but more flexible than a dead stripper, you know, after rigamortis has set in)

There has been no WIS organized gettogether since 2005 as far as I know.  But over the years Al Black and I have gotten together with some of the following: Khook, Ahook. and Jhook when they lived in Dayton; IUChris when he lived in Cincinnati, doggwood14, lefantom13, bigjilm, Magellan1212, and Scooterman.  I almost feel like I am missing someone else, but my memory isn't what it used to be. We have met to go to Xavier games, Reds games, and just to meet at BW3.  I am sure there are many more still in Cincinnati, so if WIS doesn't want to officially do anything, we could still organize an evening out here.

I still think it would be a blast to go to Vegas for a 1-day WIS organized show!  

I'd be interested to meet up with some WIS people in the DC area. See, also, the good thing about burying dead strippers, is you get your money back that you just gave them.

I'm only free on about 50% of the nights, but would love an event in the Cincy area. Surprised how many of you all live here.

the game was founded in cinci and some of the only advertising came over local radio, i believe. at least, a lot of people used to all mention that they heard about WIS from the same dude, i forget who it was though (some guy in the radio biz). so i think a lot of it got started here, and with so much of WIS advertising being word of mouth, i think there are still a LOT of cincinnati area folks here.

commish....Im still in Cincinnati.  Would welcome meeting up, even if its just a local group.   Still lots of people here in Cincy since that is where WhatIf started.
