Keeping track of triple doubles and double doubles Topic

Has there ever been any discussion about adding a category under records for triple doubles and double doubles?

I have a center who has 8 double doubles this year and I was curious where he ranked in terms of career for NWU. I know there are far better centers, but that is what got me started on the thought.

Just throwing out ideas!

Has anyone seen a triple double? Pretty sure I never have

I was also wondering if anyone has ever had a triple double? I just had a guard get a double double tonight (points and assists), but I've never seen any triple doubles.

The old Admin put out a link to some boxscores with triple doubles several years ago, but that thread is long gone by now.  I've had a player get a triple double before (points, rebounds, blocks), but that too was a long time ago.  They happen, but they seem to be extremely rare.

I was just about to look for this thread because this happened last night.

Virginia State in Knight has a center who regularly gets triple doubles as long as you count turnovers.  I think he averaged 20+ pts, 10+ rebs, and 8.7 TOs for the season that just ended for him.

Thats the first time Ive ever seen a more conventional triple double. The only other ones I had seen before were points, rebounds and blocks.

I've had a points, rebounds, blocks triple double once in my career and I've had a couple points/steals double doubles.  I think I may have had a points/assists/steals triple double once.  Triple doubles are extremely rare in this game though.  Perhaps a bit too rare.

It's primarily a result of too much substituting.  ~95% of the players in HD don't play more than 27 minutes per game.  I don't know the numbers for real college bball, but I feel confident in saying the average starters play at least 4 minutes/game longer than in HD at the same positions.  But here in HD the kids simply don't have enough playing time to rack up higher stats.

Assist totals per player are also a lot lower in HD than real life which makes it harder to get double digit assists. I think theres been a trend towards more assists in HD but still not quite there yet.
