red, did he play in every game and average 12.3mpg? I think it considers games missed completely in the calculation, so that could be an issue as that would effectively lower his true mpg.
But in general, I'd agree with your impressions about how it works. I'm surprised the kid left based on what you said. I very regularly promise starts/min and flirt with the line where they'll complain..and I can't remember the last time I had a kid transfer for it.
Like everything else in WIS, it was probably a "dice roll" instead of a hard yes or no..maybe you just got unlucky and lost a 95% roll.
Yes, he was in every single game during the regular season, ending with a 12.3 mpg average (which dropped in the postseason, but we all seem to be in agreement that minutes promises, like starts, are regular-season only things. so that would be a non-factor in his decision). Missed games due to anything other than being sub-60 in health, are counted for purposes of minutes (and starts) from my understanding as well.
It definitely was a dice roll thing -- I've had kids take harder WE hits over minutes/promises and they were still back on the roster the following season. I was just surprised mainly because being subject to that dice roll at all was in conflict with what I thought to be true about the game. The fact that he'd recovered the second WE drop AND never re-complained or lost further WE over the last 1/3-1/2 of the season had me thinking I was immune from the risk.
If it had to happen, I'm glad it was with this kid and not some destined-to-be 800+ prodigy (wait, my teams don't sign players like that anyhow...)
