Yes, my question exactly patsrule. Do I need to have another season in some world in order to redshirt a player in another, or is there simply no requirement to have an extra season to do a redshirt now?

I'm guessing it means that as long as you have any season left over in any world, you can redshirt. I don't think it means that you can have no seasons remaining at all and redshirt. 

I got this posted when I sent a ticket after moving seasons out of worlds in which I had a redshirt player.  You can certainly put an extra season in a world, apply the redshirt, then transfer the season to another world without any issue.  Someone will need to test whether you are allowed to apply the redshirt with 0 seasons remaining in the world.

I see the change now.

Before you had to have a season reserved IN THAT WORLD to have a player on redshirt. If you wanted to remove that season from that world to another one, you'd have to give up your redshirt status on that player. Now, you don't have to do that.

For example, on my St. Mary's team, I have a player redshirted. Before under manage seasons, it said I had one season remaining but zero eligible to transfer to other worlds. NOW, it says I have one remaining and one eligible for transfer to other worlds. (Never mind that I'll probably be assigning more seasons to that world soon).

I actually did this with my Butler team in Smith without realizing it. So this actually worked a couple of weeks ago, they must have just gotten around to posting the release note on it

It is. Why should they not call it that?

i did this when I was clearing out my seasons. You can apply it with no seasons in the world.
