I was looking at Chad Brown and I wondered if a D3 player ever got drafted

He is from D1 Colorado though. 

I believe deery is referring to some HD player on an undisclosed team in an undisclosed world.

This Chad Brown is a current D3 Naismith stud.  There was some sentiment that Brown, playing for a good high mid-major (CUSA, A10) team, could be drafted.  The question is, has any D3 player in HD ever been drafted?

Nope, I believe it's impossible for D3 players to get drafted and even if it was, this guy isn't even close. 

im pretty sure its happened before, dont think its impossible

hard to say when hes already at 20ppg and the coach is 2 games away from a 3peat!! also hes running motion offense. sure, the guy is brilliantly efficient, and the more you can get, the better. but i feel like the team as a whole suffers if you get things too out of whack (more so than just the individual guy). i personally don't like to push past 20ppg on good teams even in star-oriented offenses (which motion is not). i wouldnt push him any further myself, mrg is doing a fantastic job with that bunch.

There have been although I believe in addition to ratings the player in question had huge numbers, like 30+ ppg, and I'm pretty sure was NPOY. In fact, I found one, http://whatifsports.com/hd/PlayerHistory/Default.aspx?pid=686172 this is the 2nd leading DIII scorer in Tark history. There may be others, although I think with the emphasis on the draft being weighted heavier to ratings vs. stats and awards I think the numbers of DII and DIII players drafted has dropped significantly.

Yea, that change definitely made it really hard for D2 and D3 guys to get drafted. Before in D2 if you had a guy that was over 800 rated with good ath/sp/D and he put up monster numbers on a good team there was a good chance he would get drafted. I only had 1 guy drafted but I remember being pretty sure he would get drafted. It was actually on this ID with Truman State. Jerry Grow, probably the best D2 player I've ever had. He'd be the best player on 2 of my 3 teams that I have now.

Thanks, pretty much my thoughts too. I would add that my #2 scorer could make a good case for being the second best player in the country, so that's another reason not to go crazy with Brown. His 20 PPG is actually the most I've ever had someone average.

Sheesh, when I first started reading this thread I thought I might add a player from one of my DIII teams to the thread who averages about 30/game (I play almost exclusively against FCP in my conference) but my guy isn't even close to as good as Brown. That is one helluva player!

haha, that is an insane D3 player.

I remember back when I was in div III a player in IBA got drafted. He averaged like 50 PPG
