Gillespie can you explain the reduction again? Im trying to pull a guy down right now whom I've spent 40 STs on.....

When a player needs to be pulldowned, the effort you expand on him is reduced until he becomes available to you.

In a nut shell, your effort to "pull him down" only counts as like 1/3 value to sign him.

And if you have all ready sent 40 ST's you have a problem.  It could be one of the following:

1.  The guy really isn't interested in you.   Double check the original phone call.
2. Someone else is recruiting him and has but in more than the minimum to sign him.  A higher division school with 3 (maybe just two) HV's probably keeps you off him.
3. You didn't offer the scholarship.

Ok so 40 didn't work, but now I'm getting the ..... I talked to his uncle and he said if we stay at it we have a shot at this kid.... This means 5 more trips?

So for example if I spent 10,000 to pull him down are you saying that 3,333 goes toward winning him over once I'm on his list?.... Just wanna make sure I understand it because I try and explain stuff to my conference mates when they ask stuff like this.

He is a d2 sim 6 openings ($30,833) C- and he is 1750 miles away ......... I'm a d3 A- and 190 miles away........ He gave me the backup option and the opening WOTS said they like him but may not be a priority......the next WOTS said that he was a very high priority..

Couple things:

1. Recruiting doesn't work on $ it works on effort.   Your 10k equates to about  4 HVs.   If a D2 Sim sends 4 HV's you are gonna lose.
2. All Sims recruit as if the player is 200 miles away, regardless of distance.
3. I've never seen a SIM recruited player go from low priority to high priority.    If you're getting the high priority message, you have to cut and go.  You've lost.  To get that message the sim probably spent 25+ HV.

What's the math that the 10,000 equals 4 home visits...... Thanks for the advice btw..... I'm committed at this point so I'm chalking this up to an experiment now

Effort is different depending upon what you do. No one knows for absolute certainty exactly how each action corresponds to every other action in terms of effort.

I think what trentonjoe is saying here is that all your scouting trips have the same effort - in his mind - as if you had done 4 HVs.

Your scouting trips have about the same effort as 4 HV's AFTER you pulled him down.
