I notice a bunch of us seem to have been demoted to Prospects - including users with thousands of posts.  Weird, right?  Think this is due to a few recent and prominent threads or something else?  I see not everyone is affected - nice job avoiding that, TJ.

I've submitted a ticket and gotten the first maddening non-response.

How do forum ratings even work? It might have something to do with that report happy *** clown that's been floating around?

lol I read that and couldn't figure out at first what "report happy-*** clown" was supposed to mean.  Funny how the mind works.

I don't see much involved with it except how many posts you can rate each day.

I think it's all thumb up and down. Lord knows if it were based on post count I'd be a HOFer (always been a prospect).

EDIT: On a side note, how many people actually use the thumbs often? I only use it to thumb down users like etta, or for a thread like aejones' guide to the game. Never just regular old posts.

Either has to be something I really love or really hate, and there seems to have been a lot of both recently because of certain threads. The only real problem is that you only get two a day, so I always want to save them just in case but I usually end up not using them at all because of that.

Yeah, I thumb posts if I react strongly to them.  Once in a blue moon I want to rate a bunch of posts negatively.

And yeah, it's probably an automated response to etta reporting people for pretty much nothing.

Yes, it was related to the removal of the thread. We've reverted the rating change for those that were not involved in terms of use violations.
