All etta does is talk **** about the game and how he wants a refund...dude's spent $5...we've all spent hundreds...which customer is more valuable?

Also a problem for me that when I complained about the warning in a ticket they just told me that the issue was closed.  So much for "the customer is always right."  Let's try "The customer should just shut up, we aren't interested."

Please try to avoid ragging on ee in this thread.  I'm trying to limit this to complaints about WIS support and their handling of the situation.  If they close this thread or ban me, I want it to be abundantly clear that it's because I'm complaining about support, and not because we were attacking some user.

The problem is support is right. The best thing to do is ignore that dude. Continually engaging him is the worst thing t o do. I am no saint, I couldn't stop either.

Just ignore him, block him and m o 've on.
As usual, words of wisdom from TJ. If the problem would have just been ignored from the start, there wouldn't be an issue anymore. Instead it has blown up into....this.

I don't see the problem with the CS response. Seems measured and appropriate. And if the response was not warranted wholly by the cited comment, then it certainly was from a karmic point of view.

I got the same response as dahsdebater.  I am not even certain what I said that warranted my post getting reported, but that was the case with many of the posts he reported.  Anyway, as trentonjoe said I don't see what is wrong with what they said.  They didn't take any action against us.  Basically they are just saying that if we continue to bait him, he is going to report us and it is a major pain for all involved.  So, just stop baiting him.

Based on the 2nd response to dahsdebater they obviously realize who the real culprit is in this situation.  They are just asking us not to respond to him.

Consider me united
I thought it was kind of funny that I actually had Dahs on my block list (I don't remember why) when this started.
Honestly, that right there is perhaps a lesson. You had something you blocked him for that probably felt very important at the time ... But now you can't remember what it was.

dahs they haven't banned anyone who got those warnings. there's no reason to make this harder for CS than it already is. i realize they should just ban him and move on, but if we just ignore him he will go away anyway, and technically we did all break their rules. thats all they are saying, is to stop, and ignore him. lets just block him and leave it at that. they sent me a warning so i sent them his sitemail with a physical threat, will be interesting to see if they treat that differently than this other bickering. regardless im not going to give them a hard time.

also i would encourage the people talking about paying him to leave not to do so...

Honestly, I could scarcely care less about making things easy for CS.  And I wouldn't have a huge problem with the ticket response and would have let the whole thing go if they hadn't closed my thread.  But that just rubs me badly the wrong way.  That thread was in no way attacking ettaexpress, it was only criticizing support's handling of the situation.  They weren't protecting their other users.  They were protecting themselves from criticism.  Didn't give any explanation, or notice, just closed the thing.  And so far I haven't come anywhere close to being at peace with that.  Very bad form.

Yeah, that seemed VERY questionable to me.

When I first started coming to the forums, I tended to be a bit thin-skinned. I'm sure he probably talked sh!t to me and it made me ma, so I blocked him. You're right that my experience with Dahs back then should serve as a lesson. Mainly that it's okay to be wrong on the internet, and there's no need to freak out! :)

They killed my, "Ettaexpress Biggest HD Addict?" thread, but I didn't receive a warning. I've actually never received a warning from WIS.

I'm surprised they let the whole etta thing happen for so long, banning him for a few days was acceptable, but when he came back with the same venom as before they should have perma banned him and been done with it.

They flew some warnings out there to some folks that don't believe they deserve them, no big deal. Dahs isn't king of the castle. As Trentonjoe said, everyone has been wrong. After it was apparent that etta was a loon (like page 5 of his first thread) that had no intention of accepting the game for what it is, or for shitting on advice of respected users like Alblack, the opportunity was there to let his garbage attitude towards everything die.

Instead he got a platform where everyone was trying to knock him off, but you couldn't win, because you can't beat a troll.

To me, a "troll" is someone who does it for the "jazz" of it--they just enjoy riling people up. In this case, I don't think that's applicable. I think the person actually believed he was completely in the right. I don't think he was a troll.

dahsdebater,

We are sorry that you feel wronged by our decision to close the thread. We have a set of guidelines that we follow when anything like this happens, and part of those guidelines, is to close any forum thread that could lead to an issue. As you started the thread, referencing the situation, and then ettaexpress commented on it, you can see that this could have been troubling and could very easily have been the beginning of another 40+ page thread in which we would have to hear complaints from both sides and hand out warnings and bans and delete the thread, again.

As for the other threads; We sent a warning, or posting ban, to anyone who's language or behavior directly violated our Terms of Use and FairPlay Guidelines on Owner Communication. It does not matter who starts it, or why it started. If you break the Terms of Use, expect to be warned or punished.

Thank you for your time, guys. Good luck playing the game.
