Guys with jobs ending tonight, I thought I'd give this a chance. DI -Southern conference in Knight. We have 6 humans...5 of us have been there for over 5 seasons and a 6th joined making a lateral move to make the same commitment. Prior to making the move the majority of us shared a DII conference for over 20 seasons. If you are looking for something different come on board. This isnt your typical DI low level conference that happens to have 6 humans...these 6 have multiple national championships and are experienced in building DI programs...come on board and help us build the conference.

Or be in a similar geographic region with the A-10, with a minimum baseline prestige of B- (instead of baseline D across the board in Southern). It is easier to improve a D-rated team with B- baseline than D baseline. You at least have a fighting chance. UMass, George Washington, St. Louis, Dayton -- real basketball schools, all -- and each available. Or if Wofford & E. Tennessee State in the Southern are more to your liking, have at it!

A-10 Knight has 5 humans at the moment. Great to see the Southern prospering, although I personally take more delight in the continued advance of the A-10.

Yeah if you want easier, with less experienced coaches in a conference with fewer humans go for it...what we are trying to do has already been done in the A-10, Mountain West...etc...we are going for lower baselines...thats the points...if its not for you...its not for you.

Good luck. Let's schedule some games together when it makes sense. But let's not kid ourselves, turning around C- or D programs is not a cakewalk in any conference, & our coaches are no slouches. ("Don't sell yourself short Judge, you're a tremendous slouch.")

So...been working on getting us coaches...we have 2 new confirmed HOF coaches that have already reserved teams for next season which puts us at 8. We are ranked 10th with only 6 in RPI this season and are on pace to put our most teams in the postseason this go around. Four more to max it out! Come on people!

Of all the lower DI conferences, Southern would probably be the most difficult to turn into a competitor.   All 12 teams are geographically tight and you're right in the middle of ACC country.  Making that a top 5 or 6 conference would be a huge accomplishment.  If I qualified for DI Knight, I'd hop on board.  Best of luck.

The Summit Conference seems like a more reasonable place to try this due to geography. Good luck

It is going to be a challenge to say the least but with the group we have now and the two that are joining, I think we will be able to give it a go. Will be cool if another coach or two would commit but with a foundation of 8 I think we will be in good shape!

I've never played D1 before, so I'm not sure how much I'd be able to help, but I am very intrigued and should be qualified.
